Delicate Dahlias Heartfelt Sympathy Card
Dawn Olchefske created this pretty sympathy card and I love it's clean and simple design. This one comes together so quickly, which is perfect for me, because I never seem to have a sympathy card when I need one.
Background Basics—Dawn started by adhering a 4" x 1-1/2" piece of the Harvest Meadow Designer Series Paper to the bottom of a 4" x 5-1/4" layer of Basic White. Next, she stamped the large Delicate Dahlias flower in Calypso Coral ink just about the DSP and stamped again without re-inking a little offset from the original image. She added a 4" x 1/2" strip of Misty Moonlight cardstock across the top of the DSP, then mounted the layers onto a Thick Basic White card base.
Sweet Sentiment—Dawn stamped the Delicate Dahlias greeting in Misty Moonlight ink onto Basic White, punched it with the Double Oval Punch and popped it up onto the card front with Dimensionals. She finished by adding a sweet bow using the Misty Moonlight baker's twine from the Flowers For Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack. So lovely!
Delicate Dahlias Bleached Sympathy Card
This swap card was given to me by Betsy Crider. She featured a cool technique using bleach to stamp! It's been a long time since I've played with that technique. Have you ever tried it?
Background Basics—Betsy inked the large Delicate Dahlia image with a little bleach and stamped it onto a 4-3/4" x 3-1/2" piece of Cherry Cobbler. As the bleach dries, it changes the color of the cardstock. The final color will depend on what color of cardstock you use. She also flicked some bleach onto the layer with a small dry brush, like a toothbrush or paint brush.
Once dry, she layered it onto a 4-7/8" x 3-5/8" piece of Early Espresso then popped up the layers onto a Bumblebee card base with Dimensionals.
Sweet Sentiment—Betsy stamped the Delicate Dahlias greeting in Early Espresso ink onto a Very Vanilla Tasteful Labels die-cut. She adhered some Very Vanilla Diamond Weave Ribbon behind the label, then popped it up with Dimensionals. Beautiful!
