In Bloom Stamped vs. Paper Blooms Backgrounds

The awesome flower shapes in the In Blooms stamp set make it fun to create a layered flower background. Or you can get a similar look quickly & easily by substituting a piece of Paper Blooms DSP. Here are a couple of cards showing a comparison...

 

 

Background Basics—I started with a 5-1/2" x 6-1/2" Seaside Spray card base that's scored at the 4-1/4" mark. Next, I stamped In Bloom flowers over a 4-3/4" x 3-1/2" piece of Basic White cardstock. I started with three flowers in Seaside Spray, then added Rococo Rose blooms, smaller Petal Pink flowers and mini Night of Navy flowers. I added flower centers for the flowers in either Night of Navy or Rococo Rose inks.

 

The stamped layer was mounted onto a 4-7/8" x 3-5/8" piece of Night of Navy cardstock and secured it to the card front with Dimensionals.

 

 

Added Touches—I added some Wink of Stella Glimmer to the all of the background flowers, then tied some Seaside Spray Metallic Ribbon around the card front. So shimmery and pretty!

 

Sweet Sentiment—I stamped an In Bloom greeting in Night of Navy ink onto a Tasteful Labels Basic White die-cut and popped it up with Dimensionals. I finished with a couple of Rhinestone Jewels added to the label.

 

 

 

Inside The Card—The In Blooms flower stamps are perfect for decorating the inside the of card with coordinating layers of blooms. I stamped these in Seaside Spray, Rococo Rose, Petal Pink and Night of Navy inks.

 

Two Cool—For a quick & easy version of the above card, I substituted Paper Blooms Designer Series Paper. This card base is cut to 5-1/2" x 6-3/4", scored at 4-1/4". I cut a 4-3/4" x 3-1/2" piece of Paper Blooms DSP for the background and also added a 5-1/2" x 2" piece on the inside of the card for a contrasting pattern. 

 

 

Sweet Sentiment—This time I added an In Bloom greeting in Night of Navy ink onto a Basic White Stitched Shapes oval. Like the first card, I also brushed the background flowers and leaves with Wink of Stella. Pretty, pretty!
