Playing With NEW 2016 In Color Comparisons

Current Specials

_______________________________________________________________________________

Hi Stamping Friends,

Each year, with the release of the new In Colors, I like to put together little color comparison charts.  It's so fun to see how the colors are similar and different than our current color selection and how they round out our selection.  Wanna see?!

5 cool In Colors

5 Cool In Colors—Each of my charts features a new 2016-2018 In Color represented by the largest center square and a bow in it's matching ruched ribbon.  The new In Color is surrounded by 4 other colors from our current collections, so you can really see how it measures up!   Let's take a closer look!

Flirty Flamingo - swatches

Flirty Flamingo—I love this soft pinky coral color, that truly is the color of flamingos!  I would say it's most similar to Calypso Coral with a bit more pink.  It's so feminine and sweet! This color will look great with colors like Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry, Watermelon Wonder, Pool Party and the other 2016 In Colors.

Flirty Flamingo - regal rose

Retired Comparison—Do you remember the old Regal Rose?  Flirty Flamingo has just a hint more orange than that long-retired color.

Sweet Sugarplum - swatches

Sweet Sugarplum—I'm SO happy that there is another member of the purple family!  Yayyy!  There is no color like it in our current collections, so it really fills a gap.  It's another very feminine color that looks like a lighter version of Rich Razzleberry.  I like that it's got a little more pink in it, kind of like a fresh & trendy take on the muted mauves of the 80's.  I love it with the other 2016 In Colors, but I also can't wait to try it with unlikely pairings like Island Indigo, Night of Navy and Crushed Curry.

Sweet Sugarplum - orchid opulence

Retired Comparison—The first retired color that came to my mind when I saw this color was the old Orchid Opulence, but once I pulled out a sample, I quickly realized that it's much different.  Sweet Sugarplum has a lot more red in it, for sure!

Dapper Denim - swatches

Dapper Denim—This color is definitely my favorite (for now)!  I love any version of teal!  Dapper Denim is closest to Island Indigo with just a hit more blue.  I love how it looks with every one of these blue swatches and I'm sure this will be a go-to color for me!  There's something about this versatile shade that makes it look fabulous with so many colors.  I'm going to enjoy pairing it with Mint Macaron, Tip Top Taupe, Bermuda Bay, Pool Party, Cherry Cobbler, and every new In Color!

Dapper Denim - muse not quite

Retired Comparisons—I pulled out samples of the old Midnight Muse and Not Quite Navy and Dapper Denim is very similar to both.  It's a little lighter than Midnight Muse and just a shade brighter & bluer than Not Quite Navy.

Emerald Envy - swatches

Emerald Envy—Ooooh!  I think this fresh kelly green will be a fun addition to Christmas projects, don't you?!   It's most similar to Bermuda Bay but with a tad more green.  It's a little darker and more blue than Cucumber Crush.  I think it will work very well with several colors from the Brights & Subtles Collections, like Daffodil Delight, Pacific Point, Calypso Coral and Pool Party.

Emerald Envy - glorious green

Retired Comparisons—Emerald Envy immediately reminded me of the old Glorious Green.  I couldn't find a real sample of it, so I took a photo of it on an old catalog swatch page.  It's a little lighter with just a hint more blue.

Peekaboo Peach - swatches

Peekaboo Peach—I'm so glad that we have a nice light peachy color again.  I was truly missing the Crisp Cantaloupe, and even though Peekaboo Peach is much more orange than that, you can see by the swatches that we were in need of something in that area!  I think it will look great with lots of different colors like Rich Razzleberry, Night of Navy, Watermelon Wonder, Bermuda Bay and of course the other 2016 In Colors!

  Peekaboo Peach - marigold parfai

Retired Comparisons—This color reminded me of two past colors.  Peekaboo Peach is similar to Marigold Morning with just a little more orange and it's like a lighter version of Peach Parfait.

  1. Hi Angie
Thank you for the comparison list. I really agree with the green comparison. It is one I have been waiting for. Also, the purple, sugarplum, you can NEVER have enough purple according to me and my friends.
