1. Modern Mosaic Blues—I'm starting off with my absolute favorite of the bunch today.  I love the look of the Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder.  It's a Soft Suede card base with a 4-1/4" x 3-3/4" Night of Navy layer that I embossed with the Needlepoint Embossing Folder. My Faux Patina piece is 4-1/4" by 2-3/4'.

Step-by-Step Faux Patina Recipe:

• Ink Modern Mosaic Impressions Folder with Pool Party ink, and emboss Very Vanilla card stock.
• Sponge on Pistashio Pudding Ink
• Sponge on Island Indigo Ink
• Sponge on Night of Navy Ink
• Stamp the splatter images from Gorgeous Grunge (wood) stamp set with VersaMark Ink over entire piece.
• Sprinkle on Gold Embossing Powder and heat with a Heat Tool until glossy and smooth

I finished it with a From My Heart (wood) sentiment on Very Vanilla, die-cut with the Window Frame Framelits, and accented with four small square of Gold Foil (use your scraps, no need to waste a whole piece!).

2. Pear Chevron Thanks—I love the masculine feel to this card!  Faux Patinas are great for masculine card backgrounds! 

Step-by-Step Faux Patina Recipe:

• Ink Chevron Impressions Folder with Crumb Cake ink, and emboss Whisper White card stock.
• Sponge on Pear Pizzazz Ink
• Sponge on Baked Brown Sugar Ink
• Sponge on Basic Gray Ink
• Stamp the line images from Gorgeous Grunge (wood) stamp set with VersaMark Ink over entire piece.
• Sprinkle on Silver Embossing Powder and heat with a Heat Tool until glossy and smooth

I cut the background into 1-3/8" squares, layered them on a 3-1/8" square Whisper White background, and framed that with a 3-3/8" square of Baked Brown Sugar. 

The Harvest of Thanks (wood) sentiment was stamped in Baked Brown Sugar and die-cut with the Apothecary Accents Framelits.  I inked it a second time in VersaMark Ink, embossed it with Silver Embossing Powder, and cut out the "thanks" to adhere over the top. 

The Burlap Ribbon accent and white button provide more fun textures!

3. Pretty Vintage Baroque—With just a couple frilly details, this card has a lovely, feminine look with traditional patina colors on an Early Espresso card base.

Step-by-Step Faux Patina Recipe:

• Ink Beautifully Baroque Impressions Folder with Smoky Slate ink, and emboss Very Vanilla card stock.
• Sponge on Pistachio Pudding Ink
• Sponge on Bermuda Bay Ink
• Sponge on Early Espresso Ink
• Stamp the line images from Gorgeous Grunge (wood) stamp set with VersaMark Ink over entire piece.
• Sprinkle on Gold Embossing Powder and heat with a Heat Tool until glossy and smooth

My Faux Patina piece measures 4-1/4" x 2-3/4" and it's layered on a 4-1/4" x 3" piece of Bermuda Bay.

The Yippee-Skippee (wood) sentiment is colored with Early Espresso and Bermuda Bay Markers onto Very Vanilla, then die-cut with the Apothecary Accents Framelits.  I'ts layered on a a Bermuda Bay Deco Labels Framelit. 

I finished off the card with Very Vanilla Finishing Touches Edgelit borders and some Crochet Trim.

4. It's OK In Blue Argyle—Here's another masculine card using the same 2-3/4" x 4-1/4"  size of Faux Patina on Night of Navy card stock. 

Step-by-Step Faux Patina Recipe:

• Ink Houndstooth Impressions Folder with Smoky Slate ink, and emboss Whisper White card stock.
• Sponge on Coastal Cabana Ink
• Sponge on Island Indigo Ink
• Sponge on Night of Navy Ink
• Stamp the line images from Gorgeous Grunge (wood) stamp set with VersaMark Ink over entire piece.
• Sprinkle on Silver Embossing Powder and heat with a Heat Tool until glossy and smooth

I die-cut the 3" x 4-1/4" piece with a Finishing Touches Edgelit in a pinking pattern.

I inked the Really Good Greetings (wood) sentiment in Night of Navy onto Whisper White, then die-cut with the Deco Labels Collection Framelits.  The Epic Day This and That Washi Tape creates a nice contrasting border.  A few Rhinestones accent the greeting.

5. A Grey Big Day—I tried the Houndstooth folder and Epic Day Washi Tape on another fun masculine card! 

Step-by-Step Faux Patina Recipe:

• Ink Houndstooth Impressions Folder with Smoky Slate ink, and emboss Very Vanilla card stock.
• Sponge on Crumb Cake Ink
• Sponge on Cajun Craze Ink
• Sponge on Early Espresso Ink
• Stamp the big blotchy images from Gorgeous Grunge (wood) stamp set with VersaMark Ink over entire piece.
• Sprinkle on Silver Embossing Powder and heat with a Heat Tool until glossy and smooth

I layered the 2-1/2" x 4-1/4" Faux Patina piece on a 2-3/4" x 4-1/2" piece of Early Espresso.

The Chalk Talk (wood) sentiment is embossed in Silver, then cut out with the coordinating Chalk Talk Framelits.  I've layered that onto a Deco Labels Collection Framelit in Early Espresso, and accented each side with a Cajun Craze Candy Dot.

6. Razzleberry Sunset Stripes—Another favorite of mine!  The colors are so rich and cheerful!  I started with an Elegant Eggplant card base and added a 5-1/2" x 1-3/4" piece of Rich Razzleberry card stock embossed with the Delicate Designs Folder.

Step-by-Step Faux Patina Recipe:

• Ink Stylish Stripes Impressions Folder with Crumb Cake ink, and emboss Very Vanilla card stock.
• Sponge on Crisp Cantaloupe Ink
• Sponge on Raspberry Ripple Ink
• Sponge on Elegant Eggplant Ink
• Stamp the medium splotchy images from Gorgeous Grunge (wood) stamp set with VersaMark Ink over entire piece.
• Sprinkle on Gold Embossing Powder and heat with a Heat Tool until glossy and smooth

I added some Gold Foil borders to the top and bottom edges of my 4-1/4" x 2-3/4" Faux Patina piece, then wrapped it with some Crochet Trim.

I finished the card with a Simply Sketched Hostess (wood) stamp set greeting, in Elegant Eggplant, that I die-cut with a framelit from the Circle Card Thinlits.

You may have noticed that most of my Faux Patina sizes on today's projects were about the same.  That's because I was saving the remaining parts of my quarter-size embossed sheet to create a Too Cool home décor project!  Check it out!

I had a large shadow box that I wanted to fill with gorgeous Faux Patina butterflies for a quick showcase (and sign!) for the Faux Patina display I created. 

I die-cut the butterflies with the Beautiful Butterflies Bigz Die, then added an Elegant Butterfly Punch from Vellum card stock on top.  Large Rhinestone Jewels accents the centers. 

See the remaining butterflies in greater detail below (click to enlarge). 

I stamped my words with the The Morning Post Alphabet (wood) in Midnight Muse and added some scored details and more jewels.  I love how it turned out!
