Beautifully Happy Cool Techniques Cards

There may not be many images in the Beautifully Happy stamp set, but there are lots of ways to use the images! The large floral can be used in full, or just partially along the edge of a die-cut layer, as you've seen on my previous class cards. These two cards feature the large floral image, but I did a little twist on adding color to the blooms and leaves. I tried the Paper Piecing technique and the Colored Vellum technique! Two cool!

 

 

Background Basics—I cut two 3-3/4" x 2-1/2" coordinating pieces of Dandy Designs Designer Series Paper and adhered them to a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" Fresh Freesia cardstock piece. After adding a 3-3/4" x 1/2" strip of Soft Sea Foam across the seam, I mounted the layers on to a Thick Basic White card base.

 

 

Fantastic Floral—I stamped the Beautifully Happy sentiment in Memento Black ink onto a Basic White Scalloped Contours die-cut. I colored part of the image with Stampin' Blends Markers: the leaves with Dark Soft Sea Foam and the buds with Light Fresh Freesia. I adhered a 2-3/4" x 4" piece of Petal Pink to the card front, then popped up the floral image layer with Dimensionals. 

 

Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the Beautifully Happy sentiment in Memento Black ink onto a Basic White Stylish Shapes banner die-cut and popped that up, too. 

 

 

Pretty Piecing—To fill in the flowers, I stamped the large floral image in Memento Black onto another Dandy Designs Petal Pink pattern. I used my super-sharp Paper Snips to fussy cut the flowers out, right on the line, then I adhered them to the image with Liquid Multipurpose Glue. I love this fun way to add color and texture to a focal point! 

 

Finishing Touches—I added a few Iridescent Rhinestones: one on the flower center and two above the blooms. So sparkly!

Two Cool—My second card has a very similar layout. This time I adhered 3-3/4" x 2-3/4" and 3-3/4" and 2-1/4" pieces of Dandy Designs DSP to a Coastal Cabana layer. The center strip is in Pool Party cardstock. I popped up a Basic White Scalloped Contours die-cut onto the card front, without any stamping on it.

 

Vellum Coloring—This time, I stamped the flowers in Memento Black ink onto a 3" x 4-1/4" piece of Vellum cardstock. I let it dry thoroughly, then TURNED it over and colored the image on the back side with Stampin' Blends Markers. I colored the leaves with Dark Granny Apple Green, the flowers with Light Bermuda Bay and the buds with Light Night of Navy. I attached the layer with Glue Dots, strategically placed behind the colored buds and leaves, so they were less noticeable through the vellum. 

 

Finishing Touches—Notice that my Iridescent Rhinestone in the center almost looks like a different gem? I colored the center of the bloom with Night of Navy Blends and the color shines through the rhinestone. Too Cool! You could also actually color the rhinestone with the Blends Marker to change the color.

Delivering Cheer Sending Love Card

Technically, the Delivering Cheer stamp set was designed for the holiday season, but it's really very functional for birthdays or thinking of you style cards throughout the entire year!  Here's a fun celebration card with a cool Paper Piecing technique.

 

Background Basics—Wrap a piece of the Basic White Crinkle Ribbon around a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of You're A Peach Designer Series Paper, securing the ends to the back. Then, tie a short piece of the same ribbon into a knot around that first piece. This is an easy way to create a "faux bow" look. Adhere the layer to the Pear Pizzazz card base.  

 

Die-cut a 4" long Stitched Rectangle die-cut from Shimmery White cardstock and pop up onto the card background with Dimensionals.

 

Sweet Girl—Stamp the bottom half of the girl in Memento Black ink onto a large scrap piece of Shimmery White cardstock. Stamp the top of the girl above the image. Use Stampin' Blends Markers in Old Olive, Calypso Coral and Petal Pink to color in the gifts, arms & legs and shoes of the girl. 

 

Next, stamp the bottom half of the girl onto another pattern of You're A Peach DSP in Memento Black ink and trim out the skirt with Paper Snips. Adhered the skirt onto the original image for a cool Paper Pieced technique. Cut the whole girl image out with Paper Snips and pop up onto the rectangle with more Dimensionals.

Finishing Touches—Add Artistry Blooms Sequins along the top of the skirt for a belt. 

 

Sweet Sentiment—Stamp the Delivering Cheer sentiment in Pear Pizzazz ink onto Pear Pizzazz cardstock. Cut out the "sending love" words and pop up with Dimensionals onto the card front.

Delivering Cheer Wonderful Time Card

This adorable Christmas card uses a cool Out of The Box Technique to put the focus on the gift-giving girl. It's easier than you may think!

 

Background Basics—Adhere a 1-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Heartwarming Hugs Designer Series Paper along the left edge of a vertically-folded Thick Basic White card base.  

 

Sweet Girl—Stamp the bottom half of the girl in Memento Black ink about 1" away from the left edge of a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Basic White. Stamp the top of the girl above it. Then, add a sentiment from Holly Jolly Wishes in Real Red ink on the bottom right of the layer. 

 

Place the stamped layer into the Stampin' Trimmer and line up the cutter at the 1" mark or so. Start cutting until you hit the packages on the image. Continue cutting from the bottom of the skirt to the bottom of the piece. Then, use Paper Snips to cut the rest of the image out on that side only. This is called the Out of The Box technique. So cool! 

 

Color the image with Stampin' Blends Markers in Old Olive, Real Red and Granny Apple Green, adding some lines and polka dots to some of the packages.

 

Finish by popping up the Out of The Box layer onto the card front with lots of Dimensionals. Add a couple of Red Rhinestones on either side of the sentiment.

Counting Sheep It's Your Birthday Card

Oh, those Counting Sheep are simply adorable! Tracy Jacobs created this super-cute birthday card with fun colors and a simple birthday focal point.

 

Background Basics—Tracy started by layering a 3" x 4" piece of the Host exclusive Pattern Party Designer Series Paper onto a 3-1/8" x 4-1/8" piece of Basic White cardstock. You can earn this value pack of paper by having an individual or party order of $150 that qualifies for Stampin' Rewards. Find out more on page 170-171 of the Annual Catalog or Host A Party info here. Those layers are mounted onto a Pool Party card base.

 

Sweet Sentiment—Tracy stamped the Counting Sheep sentiment in Smoky Slate ink onto a 4-1/4" x 1" piece of Basic White and adhered it across the lower part of the card.

 

Sweet Sheep—Tracy stamped the County Sheep image in Memento Tuxedo Black onto Basic White, then colored it in with Stampin' Blends Markers in Smoky Slate and Basic Black. The party hat was also stamped in Memento Black and colored with Granny Apple Green and Magenta Madness. Both were die-cut with the coordinating Sheep Dies and popped up with Dimensionals. 

 

Finishing Touches—I love the pop of color Tracy added by die-cutting a Magenta Madness balloon with the Sheep Dies. It's popped up and "tied" to the sheep with white baker's twine from the Essentials Baker's Twine Pack and Glue Dots. So cute!

Counting Sheep Black & White Birthday Card

Leeann Greff also sent an adorable Counting Sheep birthday card for her swap! She paired the sheep stamps and dies with another Sale-a-Bration selection: the Beautifully Penned DSP! Perfect!

 

Background Basics—Leeann adhered 4" x 1-3/4" and 1-1/4" x 4" strips of Beautifully Penned DSP to a Basic Black card base. She topped that with a 1-1/2" x 3-3/4" piece of Petal Pink over the top for a collage-style backdrop.

 

 

Sweet Sheep—Leeann stamped the Counting Sheep image directly onto the dotted pattern of Beautifully Penned DSP, then colored it with Basic Black and Petal Pink Stampin' Blends. She die-cut it with the Sheep Dies, then layered it onto a Basic Black Hippo & Friends die-cut. It's adhered to the front with SEAL Adhesive. 

 

Sweet Sentiment—Leeann stamped the Counting Sheep greeting in Memento Black onto Petal Pink and punched it with the Double Oval Punch. She added a folded piece of Black & White Gingham Ribbon behind the oval, then popped it up with Dimensionals. How fun!

Turtle Friends Stacked Friends Card

For my final Turtle Friends card, I decided to stack up the images for a "from all of us" style of birthday card. Can you say adorable?!!

 

Background Basics—I started with a 2" x 5-1/2" piece of Fine Art Floral Designer Series Paper (retiring soon!) adhered to a So Saffron card base.  

 

Sentiment Layer—I stamped a Turtle Friends sentiment in Bermuda Bay ink onto a 2-3/4" x 4" piece of Basic White cardstock. I layered it onto a 3" x 4-1/4" piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock, then tied some Bumblebee Gingham Ribbon around the layers and popped it up with Dimensionals.

Stacked Friends—I stamped the large Turtle Friends turtle in Memento Black ink onto scrap Basic White cardstock, colored him in with Light Granny Apple Green and Light Bermuda Bay Stampin' Blends and punched him out with the Turtle Punch. I stamped the large turtle again onto So Saffron cardstock, stamped the shell pattern in Granny Apple Green ink and punched it out. I used Paper Snips to finish cutting out the shell to paper piece it onto the original stamped turtle. He's popped up with Dimensionals over the ribbon. 

I used the same method to create the smaller turtle, I just swapped the colors of the turtle body and toes, and it's all hand-cut. I stamped the party had in Memento Black ink onto Basic White, colored with Granny Apple Green, Bermuda Bay and So Saffron Stampin' Blends Markers cut it out and popped it up with a Mini Dimensional. I finished by stamping the bird image in Bumblebee ink onto Basic White, then cutting out and popping up, too. 

 

 

Two Cool—I tried the same layout with different stamping supplies for a masculine graduation card that I needed. I knew that the Old World Paper DSP had already retired from the old Annual Catalog, but completely forgot that the Beautiful World stamp set and matching dies were also retired! Oh well...if you don't have these supplies, you can always CASE the original turtle card like I did with a different set of supplies.

 

This card begins with the Old World Paper on a Cinnamon Cider card base. I tied some Early Espresso Faux Suede Ribbon (the only item that isn't retired!) around the card front.

 

Wonderful World—I stamped the Beautiful World sentiment in Early Espresso and mounted the layer onto Mossy Meadow. The globe is stamped with Mossy Meadow and Cinnamon Cider, die-cut and popped up.

Turtle Friends Hello Little One Card

I love combining the large and small turtles from the Turtle Friends Bundle for an adorable "welcome baby" or "happy birthday" card for a young child. So super-cute!

 

Background Basics—I began with a 5-1/2" x 7-1/4" piece of Granny Apple Green cardstock, scored at the 4-1/4" mark. Next, I embossed a 5-1/4" x 2-3/4" piece of Granny Apple Green with the Hammered Metal Embossing Folder to give the panel a turtle shell look. I tied some Pool Party Sheer Ribbon around the card front for a little more texture.

 

On the inside of the card, I stamped a Turtle Friends sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto the bottom of a 5-1/4" x 1-1/4" piece of Pool Party. It's adhered to a 5-1/4" x 4" piece of Basic White, then mounted inside the card.

 

 

Two Turtles Focal Point—I stamped the Turtle Friends sentiment at the top left of a 4" x 2-3/4" piece of Basic White in Memento Black, then stamped the little turtle outline in black at the bottom right. I colored in his body with Pool Party and Granny Apple Green Blends Markers. I stamped the large turtle in Memento Black onto scrap Basic White, and colored it the same way. For the shells, I stamped the turtle outline images in Memento Black onto scrap Soft Sea Foam cardstock, then stamped the shell pattern in Granny Apple Green on the inside. I hand-cut the shell and paper-pieced it onto the original turtle image. I finished by popping the large turtle with Dimensionals, adding the hearts in Real Red ink and matting it onto a 4-1/8" x 2-7/8" piece of Basic Black cardstock. It's mounted onto the card front with more Dimensionals.

 

Optional Shimmer—I didn't do it on this card, but Wink of Stella shimmer would look amazing on the shell pattern and hearts...just sayin'!

 

 

Free As A Bird Thank You Card

For my second card, I selected a completely different stamp set and created a card using the same card layout. It's an example of how fun it is to find a card you like and CASE (Copy And Share Everything) with a different stamp set and in a different combination of colors. 

 

Two Cool—This card base begins with Calypso Coral with a layer of Painted Texture embossed texture. It's tied with Pale Papaya Open Weave Ribbon. The inside of the card has a Pale Papaya layer with a sentiment from the Free As A Bird stamp set, stamped in Soft Suede ink.

 

Beautiful Birdies—I stamped the Free As A Bird branch of birds in Soft Suede ink, then colored in the image with Pale Papaya, Calypso Coral, Old Olive and Soft Suede Blends Markers. The coordinating Free As A Bird sentiment is stamped in Soft Suede and it's layered onto Soft Suede cardstock. Ohh...I love how this one turned out!

Flowers & Leaves Punch Creates Colorful Blooms!

 

Flowers of Friendship With 4-Petal Flowers

This is my featured card for the Pale Papaya month for my In Color Club participants. I love that it uses most of the new In Colors...you can see how beautifully they go together! And the Flowers & Leaves Punch makes it so easy to create a whole bouquet of flowers!

 

Background Basics—I started with a Pale Papaya card base and I stamped the Flowers of Friendship tiny flower border repeatedly along the left side of the card front with coordinating Pale Papaya ink. Doesn't it make such a sweet background pattern? I added a Pale Papaya Open Weave Ribbon tied around the card front into a double-knot. 

 

 

Masked & Punched Blooms—I used the large Flowers of Friendship floral image for the stem and leaves, but I wanted to add 4-petal flowers instead of the blooms that were on the image. I used some small sticky notes to cover up the flowers on the rubber stamp, then inked just the stem and leaves with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I removed the masks, then stamped the remaining image onto a 2-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Basic White cardstock. It's layered onto a 2-1/2" x 5-1/2" piece of Polished Pink, then mounted onto the card front. 

 

Next, I punched the two smaller Flowers of Friendship blooms in Memento Black onto Polished Pink and Fresh Freesia cardstock and punched them out. The larger flower was stamped in Memento Black onto Pale Papaya and punched out. And finally, I stamped the small and large leaves in Memento Black onto Soft Succulent cardstock and punched those out as well. They were all added to the flower stem with either Glue Dots or Dimensionals. This is a simple Paper Piecing technique and I love how it adds quick color to the card!  

 

I finished with some Rhinestone Jewels in the center of each flower.

 

 

Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the Flowers of Friendship sentiment in Memento Black onto a 2-3/4" x 7/8" piece of Fresh Freesia cardstock, then popped it up with Dimensionals. So sweet!

 

 

Flowers of Friendship With Full Flowers

For my Evening Evergreen card, I tried a fun fold card with full flowers, again punched with the Flowers & Leaves Punch. It makes a fantastic thank you card!

 

Background Basics—I started with a quarter-sheet of Evening Evergreen, measuring 5-1/2" x 4-1/4". I decorated the base with a 2" x 4" piece of Evening Evergreen In Color DSP, then added a Basic White Scalloped Contours die-cut as a pretty foundation for the card. The open part of the card is made with a 5-3/4" x 4-1/8" piece of Soft Succulent cardstock, scored at the 2-7/8" mark. It's adhered onto the scallop rectangle with SEAL or SEAL+.

 

I wrapped some Evening Evergreen Open Weave Ribbon around the small card front, attaching the ends to the card front with SEAL.

 

 

Full Flowers—The flowers punched from the Flowers & Leaves Punch can be layered to create fuller blooms. I started by stamping a Flowers of Friendship greeting in Memento Black onto a Basic White Tasteful Labels die-cut. Then, I stamped and punched two Pale Papaya large flowers and two Polished Pink small flowers, both in Memento Black ink. I layered and attached them with Glue Dots. I stamped the leaves in Evening Evergreen ink onto Evening Evergreen cardstock, punched them out and tucked them under the blooms with Glue Dots.

 

The label is mounted onto the card front with Dimensionals. I finished with Rhinestone Jewels for each bloom.

 

Inside The Card—Don't forget to decorate the inside of the card. I stamped the two flowers and leaves in Memento Black onto the 3-3/4" x 2-1/2" piece of Basic White. They are colored with Stampin' Blends Markers in Pale Papaya, Polished Pink and Soft Succulent colors.

Two Cool Techniques For Flowers of Friendship!

 

Flowers of Friendship With Sponged Flowers

My first card was designed for the Polished Pink month in my In Color Club! Club participants make 4 each of each month's card. I tried out a cool spotlighting technique with some simple sponging and I love how it turned out!

 

Background Basics—I began with a 5-1/2" x 2" piece of a Polished Pink pattern from the 2021-2023 In Color Designer Series Paper Pack, adhered to a Polished Pink card base.

 

 

 

Sponged Blooms—I started by stamping the sentiment from Flowers of Friendship onto a 4-1/2" x 3-1/4" piece of Basic White using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Next, I added the large floral image from the same set, stamped three times across the panel. I spotlighted the center floral image by lightly adding some Polished Pink color to the blooms with a Sponge Dauber. I also added a bit of Soft Succulent to the leaves on that same bunch of flowers.

 

Finishing Touches—I layered the stamped piece onto a 4-5/8" x 3-3/8" piece of Basic Black, then tied some Polished Pink Open Weave Ribbon around the layers into a double-knot. It's popped up onto the card front with a bunch of Dimensionals. I finished by adding a few clear Rhinestone Jewels floating around the flowers. So sweet and simple!

 

 

Flowers of Friendship With Paper Piecing

My second card features the Soft Succulent In Color, along with an easy paper piecing technique for the flowers. I made it into a fun easel card, similar to one I saw created by fellow demonstrator Mary Knabe.

 

Background Basics—This card begins with a 4-1/4" x 11" piece of Soft Succulent cardstock that I've scored at the 2-3/4" and 5-1/2" marks. 

 

I decorated the front panels with 4" x 2-1/2" pieces of Soft Succulent DSP, then added a 4" x 3/4" piece of Polished Pink cardstock across the bottom for an accent. This photo shows how the card can lay flat for mailing.

 

Floral Focal Point—I stamped the Flowers of Friendship image in Memento Black ink onto a 2-1/2" x 3-3/4" piece of Basic White. Next, I stamped the flowers onto a piece of Polished Pink cardstock, cut them out with Paper Snips, then popped them up over the original flowers with Dimensionals. I also colored in the leaves with a Light Soft Succulent Stampin' Blends Marker. Club members will have their Stampin' Write Marker in their kits for color, if they didn't get the Stampin' Blends Markers added on to their monthly kit.

 

I layered the flowers onto a 2-5/8" x 3-7/8" piece of Soft Succulent cardstock, then again onto an Evening Evergreen die-cut from the Scalloped Contours Dies. The layers are mounted onto the bottom panel of the card front only using Dimensionals.

 

Finishing Touches—I tied a Soft Succulent Open Weave Ribbon bow and adhered it with a Glue Dot, then added some Rhinestone Jewels.

 

 

Sweet Sentiment—To make the easel part of the card work, we need a kickstand. I started by stamping the Flowers of Friendship flower border in Soft Succulent along the bottom of a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White, then colored the flowers with the Blends Marker. Next, I added a 4" x 3/8" strip of Polished Pink cardstock for an accent layer. Finally, I stamped the Flowers of Friendship greeting in Memento Black ink onto a 2-1/2" x 3/4" piece of Basic White, fishtail cut the ends and popped it up with Dimensionals. The card front can then be tucked behind this kickstand for displaying on a desk or table. Too Cool!

Tag Buffet Paper-Pieced Stocking Cards

I knew when I was designing this class that I just had to combine the stocking image with the Plaid Tidings Designer Series Paper using the cool Paper Piecing technique! It goes perfectly with Christmas stockings and it's super-easy to get this look!  

 

 

Background Basics—First, I embossed a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Crumb Cake cardstock with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder. I added a 4" x 2" piece of Plaid Tidings DSP along the bottom, along with a 4" x 1/2" Mossy Meadow strip at the top of the DSP, then mounted all the layers onto a Cherry Cobbler card base.

 

Terrific Tag—For the focal point, I punched the top of a 2" x 4-1/2" piece of Whisper White with the Delightful Tag Topper Punch. I stamped the bottom of the tag with a Tag Buffet sentiment in Mossy Meadow ink. 

Paper-Pieced Stocking—I stamped the Tag Buffet stocking image onto the tag with Memento Tuxedo Ink and colored in the cuff, heel and toe sections with a combination of Real Red and Cherry Cobbler Blends Markers. Next, I stamped the stocking image onto another matching pattern from the Plaid Tidings DSP, trimmed out the middle of the stocking and adhered it onto the original stamped image.  Oh, how cool!  

I mounted the tag onto the card front with Dimensionals

Finishing Touches—I stamped the holly leaf and berries images in Memento Black onto scrap Whisper White and colored them with Cherry Cobbler and Mossy Meadow Blends Markers. They are hand-cut and attached with Glue Dots. I tied a Real Red Sheer Ribbon bow and attached it to the top of the tag with a Glue Dot. I also added a couple of Red Rhinestone jewels next to the tag on the Mossy Meadow strip.

 

Two Cool—I'm in love with color combination on my second version! This time, the embossed background is in Sahara Sand, decorated with a Pretty Peacock Plaid Tidings pattern and a classy Basic Black accent strip. The layers are mounted onto a Pretty Peacock card base.

 

Terrific Tag—The tag sentiment is stamped with Memento Black ink and I squared up the positioning of the tag onto the card front.

 

Sweet Stocking—The stocking is colored with Pretty Peacock Blends in the middle on this tag. I paper-pieced with the same DSP as the background on this one, this time cutting the cuff, heel and toe. TIP: You can alternate using the middle of the stocking with the cuff/heel/toe parts to make your stamped DSP go further!

Finishing Touches—The holly is colored in Shaded Spruce here, and I decorated with a Pretty Peacock/Old Olive Reversible Ribbon bow and Holiday Rhinestones accents.

Under My Floral Umbrella Cards

During yesterday's LIVE Class, I featured some different ways that Designer Series Paper can be used instead of a traditional coloring method. Today's card uses some simple stamping on DSP to add quick color and patterns to images.  

 

 

Background Basics—This card starts by adhering a 5-1/4" x 1-1/4" piece of Mint Macaron gingham from the Subtles 6" x 6" DSP pack across the bottom of a 5-1/4" x 4" layer of Whisper White cardstock.  I stamped an Under My Umbrella sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black ink above the gingham on the right side.  

 

 

Next, I adhered the layer onto a Mint Macaron card base and tied some Mint Macaron Sheer Linen Ribbon around the card front, tying it into a double-knot.  I also added some Champagne Rhinestone Jewels under the ribbon for some sparkle.

Floral Umbrella—Isn't this floral umbrella so lovely?!  I started by embossing a 2-1/2" x 3-1/2" piece of Mint Macaron with the Beads & Bauble folder and popping it up onto the card front.  Then, I stamped the Under My Umbrella image directly onto a floral pattern from the Best Dressed Designer Series Paper and punched it out with the Umbrella Builder Punch. I also punched out a Basic Black umbrella handle. The handle is adhered with SNAIL and the umbrella is popped up with Dimensionals.  

Rubber Boots—I stamped the boots image from Under My Umbrella in Memento Black onto another pattern of Best Dressed DSP and hand-cut them out with Paper Snips.  They are popped up, as well.  

 

Two Cool—For the second version, I started with Purple Posy for the card base and included some Highland Heather gingham DSP down the side.  

 

 

This time, I tied White Crinkle Seam Binding Ribbon around the card front and added a different Under My Umbrella sentiment.

 

Floral Umbrella 2—I selected a different floral pattern from Best Dressed to coordinate with the Purple Posy embossed layer.  I finished with Basic Rhinestone Jewels that kind of look like raindrops falling...don't you think?

Power of Hope Paper-Pieced Kimono Cards

I had so much fun creating different kimono patterns for this card...and it's so easy!  I used the Lily Impressions Designer Series Paper and the Paper Piecing Technique!  Watch today's LIVE Class Video Replay linked above to see this technique in action!

 

 

Background Basics—This card begins by embossing a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Pool Party cardstock with the Stone 3D Embossing Folder. The folder is part of the Power of Hope Bundle, which you can earn for FREE during Sale-a-Bration with a $100 order!  I adhered it onto a vertically-folded Pool Party card base.  

 

 

Next, I adhered a 4" x 1-1/4" piece of Lily Impressions DSP across the lower half of the card and a 1" x 5-1/4" strip of Champagne Foil down the side of the card to create a base for my focal point.

Cool Kimono—I die-cut a Whisper White label shape using the Painted Labels dies and stamped the Power of Hope image on it in Memento Black ink.  For the Paper Piecing Technique, I stamped the image again onto a pattern of the Lily Impressions DSP, cut out the kimono shape with my Paper Snips, and adhered it over the top of the original stamped image.  It's a very forgiving technique, so don't worry if you don't stay on the lines perfectly.  

I finished by coloring in the rest of the image with Stampin' Blends Markers: Pool Party for the umbrella, Ivory for her face and Light Black for her hair.  It's popped up with Dimensionals onto the card front.

Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the sentiment onto a 2-1/2" x 1/2" piece of Flirty Flamingo cardstock, fishtail cut the end and popped it up with Dimensionals.  Finally, I added a couple of Holiday Rhinestones on the foil. Love it!  We'll be making this card at the Kickoff Party!

 

Two Cool—For the second version, I started with Purple Posy for the card base and background and added a coordinating Lily Impressions strip on the background.

 

 

Cool Kimono—I selected a different Lily Impressions DSP pattern for the kimono on this one and colored the umbrella with Purple Posy and Rich Razzleberry Light Blends.  The sentiment is on Pool Party cardstock.  I can't wait to try more kimono patterns...maybe even with different DSP from the Mini Catalog!  Which one should I try next?
