Two Sweet Share A Milkshake Cards

Hi Stamping Friends!

Did you know that the current Mini Catalog is only good through May 1? It's true! This year, Stampin' Up! shortened the timing of the catalog to give more of a spotlight to the NEW Annual Catalog that gets released in May.

The Last Chance Retiring List will be announced on March 29, which means now is the time to take another look at the Mini Catalog to see if there are stamps, bundles, papers or embellishments that you can't live without! Everything in the Mini Catalog is While Supplies Last, and that will take on even more significance once the Last Chance List hits. Some of the stamps & bundles may carry over into the Annual Catalog, but we won't know for sure until the retiring list is out.

I've been taking a deeper look into the Mini Catalog myself and I'm finding so many stamp sets that I just haven't had a chance to use yet. One that I really love is the delightful Share A Milkshake Bundle! Today, I'm sharing two swap cards that I received featuring these cool treats!

Share A Milkshake Cherry On Top Card

This card created by Greta Wilcher is filled with all kinds of yumminess! I just adore the Share a Milkshake Bundle because it can be used for birthdays, Valentine's day, thank you and happy hello cards!

Background Basics—Greta started by embossing a 5-1/4" x 4" piece of Basic White cardstock with the Painted Texture Embossing Folder and mounted it onto a Crumb Cake card base. Oh wow! That texture looks like a close-up scoop of ice cream, don't you think? So cool!

Sweet Foundation—Greta die-cut two pieces with the Stitched Rectangles Dies; one from Rain or Shine Specialty Designer Series Paper and another from Flirty Flamingo cardstock. She stamped the Share A Milkshake sentiment on the right side of the Flirty Flamingo rectangle with VersaMark Ink, then sprinkled on White Embossing Powder and heat embossed it. The striped layer is adhered with SEAL Adhesive and the sentiment layer is popped up with Dimensionals.

Next, she die-cut the Crumb Cake cross-hatch element with the Share A Milkshake Dies and adhered that with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Sweet Sundae—Greta stamped the Share A Milkshake solid ice cream bowl image in Crumb Cake onto Basic White, then stamped the detailed image over the top of it with Soft Suede ink. She stamped the scoops of ice cream image in VersaMark Ink onto Basic White and embossed that with White Embossing Powder, too, for a fun texture. Lastly, she stamped the cherry image in Cherry Cobbler ink and a spoon in stamped-off Smoky Slate ink. All images where die-cut with the Share A Milkshake Dies, then adhered together with and popped up with Dimensionals. If you look closely, you can see that the dies cut a little slit in the ice cream where you can slide the spoon in for a more realistic look. So clever!

She finished with a few Pastel Adhesive Backed Sequins in pink.

Share A Milkshake Celebrate Card

Oh how fun! I love the festive look of this Share A Milkshake card created by Cathy Miller. What a fun way to acknowledge a birthday for any age!

Background Basics—Cathy's card begins with a 5-1/2" x 6-3/8" piece of Crumb Cake cardstock, scored at the 2-1/8" mark. She adhered a 1-7/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Country Floral Lane DSP onto a 2" x 5-1/4" piece of Sweet Sorbet to decorate the front flap.

Sweet Shake—Cathy stamped the Share A Milkshake milkshake glass image in Crumb Cake ink onto Crumb Cake cardstock and the ice cream in Petal Pink ink onto Petal Pink cardstock. The straw stripes were stamped in Sweet Sorbet ink onto Basic White and the cherry was stamped in Sweet Sorbet ink onto Sweet Sorbet cardstock and brushed with some Wink of Stella shimmer. All of those elements were adhered together, with the straw slid into the slot, and adhered with SEAL Adhesive onto the card front flap.

Cool Ice Cream—Cathy stamped the smaller ice cream image in Flirty Flamingo ink onto Flirty Flamingo cardstock and die-cut. The heart was die-cut from Sweet Sorbet cardstock with some Wink of Stella glimmer added. The bowl was die-cut from Crumb Cake cardstock and embossed with the Stripes & Splatters Embossing Folder. These pieces were assembled and mounted to the front with SEAL Adhesive.

Sweet Sentiment—Cathy stamped the Share A Milkshake sentiment in Sweet Sorbet onto a Stylish Shapes circle, then popped it up with Dimensionals. She finished with a few Iridescent Pearls around the greeting.

Inside the Card—I love the repeated "celebrate" down the side of the card! It looks like she might have used the Stamparatus and the Hinge Technique to help her position the word first in the Sweet Sorbet ink tilted to the right, then in the Petal Pink color tilted to the left. For the Hinge Technique, you position the word onto the Stamparatus platform at the top of the card, ink and stamp it, then move the platform down one hinge and repeat down the whole side. She stamped it onto Basic White measuring 4" x 5-1/4", then layered it onto Sweet Sorbet measuring 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" before mounting it to the inside of the card. Wow...so fun!

Biggest Wish Hinge Step Birthday Cards

The Stamparatus makes it easy to create a really cool repetitive background! I show it in action in the LIVE Class Replay linked above and the results are super-awesome!

Biggest Wish Hinge Step Birthday - greens

Step Stamped Background—I started by adhering a 1-1/4" piece of Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper to a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White. Next, I placed the layer into the Stamparatus so that the top right corner was flush with the Stamparatus edges. I positioned the Biggest Wish "happy" stamp onto the card about 1/8" from the top edge, then closed the Stamparatus plate over it to pick it up.

For the repetitive stamping, you simply ink the stamp, press it onto the cardstock, clean it, move the plate down one hinge, then repeat. I stamped in graduating green colors: Soft Sea Foam, Mint Macaront, Soft Succulent and Bermuda Bay. TIP: The Simply Shammy is perfect for cleaning up the stamp while it's attached to the Stamparatus plate. Even better, you can cut the Simply Shammy in half or quarters so you have a smaller shammy that is more manageable to use.

I finished by stamping the Biggest Wish "birthday" word in Memento Tuxedo Black ink at the bottom. I mounted the stamped layer onto a Soft Sea Foam card base.

Finishing Touches—I tied some Soft Succulent Open Weave Ribbon around the card front into a double-knot, trimming the ends. I finished by coloring a couple of Rhinestone Jewels with the Dark Soft Succulent Stampin' Blends Markers and adding them at the bottom of the card.

Two Cool—I thought the first card was a little more masculine looking, so I made this one more girly. I adhered a strip of Hand-Penned DSP this time. The colors used in the Hinge Step technique were: Magenta Madness stamped off once, Fresh Freesia, Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape.

Finishing Touches—I tied matching Fresh Freesia Open Weave Ribbon around the card front this time and colored those jewels with a Magenta Madness Dark Blends Marker.

Biggest Wish Turtle Friends Birthday Card

Kelly Acheson sent me this adorable card featuring the Turtle Friends stamp set and the Biggest Wish sentiments. I love that you can easily combine the Biggest Wish words with any of your favorite stamp sets to give it a whole different look with the larger greetings!

Happy Hinge-Step Background—Kelly began her card by stamping the "happy" word multiple times down the right edge of a Granny Apple Green card base with Granny Apple Green. If you have a Stamparatus tool, you can accomplish this quickly and easily with the Hinge-Step stamping technique. Simply position the photopolymer stamp in the upper right corner of the Stamparatus, about 1/8" from the top and right card edge. Ink it up and stamp. Then, lift the plate and move it down to the next hinge on the Stamparatus, ink and stamp again. Continue to move the plate down one hinge to repeat the stamping down the entire side. Background Basics—Next, Kelly embossed a 2" x 5-1/2" piece of Crumb Cake cardstock with the Hammered Metal 3D Embossing Folder to mimic the turtle shell pattern. She layered that onto a 2-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Misty Moonlight cardstock and mounted the layers onto the card front.

Cute Accents—Kelly added a Linen Thread double-bow with long tails to the top of the panel using a Glue Dot. She also added a few Soft Succulent In Color Gems for a little sparkle.

Terrific Turtle—Kelly stamped the Turtle Friends outline image in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, then added the shell pattern in stamped-off Misty Moonlight ink over the top. She also stamped the greeting in Memento Black over the shell pattern. She finished up by coloring in the turtle with the Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends Markers with some Crumb Cake Blends colored toes. The image was punched out with the coordinating Turtle Punch and popped up with Dimensionals.

Inside The Card—I love the way Kelly decorated the inside of the card! From the cute little Granny Apple Green turtle to the Granny Apple Green and Misty Moonlight streamers, it's so fun and festive for this birthday card!

Biggest Wish Daisy Garden Birthday Card

Laura Barto paired the Biggest Wish sentiments with the pretty Daisy Garden background stamp for a delightful tag card!

Background Basics—Laura began by stamping the Daisy Garden image in Granny Apple Green ink onto a 5" x 3-3/4" piece of Soft Sea Foam cardstock. She added texture to the background with the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder, then layered it onto a 5-1/4" x 4" piece of Real Red and mounted it onto a Granny Apple Green card base.

Terrific Tag—Laura die-cut a Basic White tag using the Tailor Made Tags Dies for the focal point. Next, she stamped the large Biggest Wish "birthday" word in So Saffron ink and the smaller "happy" word in Real Red over the top. She die-cut a Real Red reinforcer piece, then tied some Bumblebee Gingham Ribbon through the hole to finish decorating the top of the tag. The tag is popped up with Dimensionals.

Happy Tails Friends Forever with Mirror Technique

Hi Stamping Friends,

Today, I'll be sharing the details for creating the cool mirror-image Happy Tails card that I featured on my Facebook LIVE last Friday.

But first...I've been having so much fun creating my Everything is Rosy Project Sheets!

Gingham gala happy tails - friends forever 1

Happy Tails Friend Forever Mirror Technique Card

A couple weeks ago, I shared an easy way to do the Reflection Technique using the plastic sheet from photopolymer stamp sets. Today's card features an alternative way to do the Reflection Technique, or in this case, it's more of the Mirror Technique. I like using this version of the technique when I'm trying to create a die-cut image that faces the opposite direction. I have the step-by-step details below and you can see the technique in action on my Facebook LIVE Replay below.

Background Basics—I placed the Happy Tails bone and paw print images onto one acrylic block, then stamped them randomly over a 5-1/4" x 1-1/4" piece of Balmy Blue cardstock in Balmy Blue ink. It's adhered onto the bottom of a 5-1/4" x 4" piece of Whisper White cardstock. Next, I adhered a 1-1/2" x 4" piece of the Balmy Blue Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper along the left side.

Background Accents—I stamped the Happy Tails sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto the white background, then mounted the layer onto a Night of Navy card base. Next, I stamped the doghouse outline onto scrap Whisper White cardstock in the Memento Black ink and stamped the solid house image over the top in Soft Suede ink. I colored the door of the house with some Light Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends Marker. I hand-cut the doghouse and adhered it to the background with SNAIL adhesive.

Mirror Image Technique—I created the right-facing dog image with the help of a Stamparatus and Silicone Craft Mat. I used the Foam Mat in the Stamparatus and added the Silicone Craft Mat over the top of it, both aligned flush in the upper right corner of the tool.

Add the Happy Tails image to the Stamparatus Plate, ink it up with Memento Black Ink and stamp onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock that is positioned flush to the top right corner of the Stamparatus. TIP: Position your stamp set case under the stamping plate to provide a more flat surface, making it easier to ink up the image.
Punch the image out of the Whisper White cardstock with Dog Builder Punch.
Replace the punched cardstock onto the Stamparatus platform, flush to the top right.

Ink the dog image with Memento Black again, then stamp through the punched window onto the Craft Silicone Mat.

Repeat inking and stamping onto the Craft Mat for another layer of ink, so the outline is solid and black.

Place the punched dog piece into the template, careful not to smear the ink below.

Re-ink the image and stamp over the top of the punched shape. The pressure of the stamp helps to transfer the ink from the Silicone Craft Mat to the back of the punched shape.

Now you have a punched shape with the image inked on both sides, so you can use either side! Too Cool!

Two Cool Dogs—I colored the dog on the left with the Light and Dark Soft Suede Stampin' Blends Markers. The other dog is stamped with the Happy Tails spots image in Soft Suede ink, then colored over the rest of the body with the Light Crumb Cake Blends Marker. Both dogs are popped up with Dimensionals onto a Whisper White Layering Ovals die-cut, then mounted onto a Night of Navy scallop oval, also die-cut with the Layering Ovals dies. I mounted the oval onto the card front with SNAIL.

I finished by punching a Cherry Cobbler heart with the Dog Builder Punch and popping it up between the dogs like they were both holding it in their mouths.

Download Animal Outing Reflection Project Sheet

Animal Outing Reflection Card

Last week, I shared one way to do the Reflection Technique with a Photopolymer plastic sheet. For this project sheet, the Silicone Craft Mat and Stamparatus was used for the technique. It's a fun alternative that allows you to have a little more ink on the reflection and give a little better transfer. The Animal Expedition DSP on this card gives a soft, coordinating pattern that is perfect for a background.

Step-By-Step Instructions:

Adhere a 4” x 5-/4” piece of Animal Expedition DSP to a Pool Party card base.
Place a 2-1/2” x 3-1/2” piece of Whisper White cardstock on the Stamparatus.
Position the Animal Outing rubber stamp about ½” from the top and close the plate. This is the positioning for the reflection stamping.
Remove Whisper White cardstock and replace with a Silicone Craft Sheet. Ink up the stamp with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and stamp onto the Silicone; then repeat to make sure the image is inked well.
Add the Whisper White cardstock back to the Stamparatus on top of the Silicone. Bring the plate down onto the cardstock to press the cardstock onto the Silicone Mat to fully transfer the ink to the backside of the cardstock.
Mount Animal Outing image back onto a regular acrylic block. Stamp the same Animal Outing image directly above the reversed image in Memento Black ink.
Color the images with Stampin’ Blends Markers: Smoky Slate for the body, Ivory for the tusk, Pool Party for the water, and Daffodil Delight Dark, Cherry Cobbler Light & Pumpkin Pie Dark for the bird.
Stamp the Animal Outing sentiment in Memento Black ink.
Mount the stamped layer onto a 2-3/4” x 3-3/4” piece of Basic Black cardstock and adhere to the card front.

Animal Outing Thank You Card

Oh my goodness...those little swimming rhinos are stinkin' cute! Here's a quick card using similar Stampin' Blends Marker coloring as the first card. Love those adorable little leaves accents around the sentiment, too!

Step-By-Step Instructions:

Adhere a 1” x 5-1/2” strip of Animal Expedition DSP down the left side of the card front.
Stamp the Animal Outing rhino using Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto the lower right corner of a 3-1/4” x 5-1/2” piece of Whisper White cardstock.
Color in the image with Stampin’ Blends: Smoky Slate for the rhino, Daffodil Delight & Pumpkin Pie for the bird, Old Olive for the grass.
Pop up the stamped layer onto the right side of the card front with Dimensionals.
Stamp the Animal Outing greeting using Memento Black ink onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock and punch it out using the 1-¼” circle punch.
Punch out a 1-3/8” Scallop Circle in Basic Gray and adhesive sentiment to it with SNAIL.
Trim off three leaves from the Leaf Ribbon and add them to the back of the greeting using Glue Dots. Add greeting to the card front using Dimensionals.

Painted Seasons Designer Series Paper Z-Fold Cards

Hi Stamping Friends,

I'm loving the double-sided designs on the Painted Seasons Designer Series Paper, so I couldn't wait to try it with a project showcasing both sides of the paper.

Painted Seasons Designer Series Paper Z-Fold Cards

Show off beautiful, double-sided Stampin' Up! designer papers with this easy-to-create fun-fold card!

Fun-Fold DSP Card Base—Select your favorite double-sided sheet of DSP, like this one from the Painted Seasons Bundle Sale-a-Bration selection. Cut it to 5-1/2" x 12", then score along the 12" side a the 1-3/4" x 4-3/4" and 7-3/4" marks. Fold back the first smallest panel, then accordion fold on the remaining score lines. I like to secure the first folded-back flap with some SNAIL adhesive. For card stability, I mounted the card onto a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" quarter sheet of Poppy Parade card stock using Tear & Tape Adhesive.

Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the sentiment from Rooted In Nature in Early Espresso ink onto a 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" square of Whisper White cardstock, then layered it onto a 2-5/8" x 2-5/8" piece of Call Me Clover cardstock. It's popped up with Dimensionals onto a 3" x 3" square of Poppy Parade cardstock, then attached to the front card flap with Dimensionals.

Painted seasons dsp z-fold - thinking 4.5

Painted Flowers—I stamped the Painted Seasons larger flower in Poppy Parade ink and die-cut it with the NEW Four Seasons Framelits. This coordinating set of dies will be available to customers for a limited time, from March 1-31. If you want them right away, you can simply add the Four Seasons Framelits (150074) to your $99 Starter Kit or $129 Starter Kit order, or pre-order the dies when you're a demonstrator! The leaves are stamped in Call Me Clover full-strength for one and stamped-off for the second. They are added to the bottom of the sentiment layer with SNAIL and a Dimensional in the corner for stability.

Stamparatus Die-Cut Stamping—In the video, I shared how you can easily create a template to use with the Stamparatus for quick & accurate stamping on die-cuts. This comes in handy when you are making several cards at once and need lots of flowers and leaves.

Finishing Touches—I tied a Petal Pink & Silver Baker's Twine bow and attached it to the flower collage with a Glue Dot. Then I finished with three Artisan Pearls floating around the sentiment. So cute!

Two Cool—I created a second version using my next favorite sheet from the Painted Seasons DSP and mounted it onto a quarter sheet of Pool Party cardstock.

Sweet Sentiment—This time I stamped a Forever Lovely greeting in Shaded Spruce ink onto the 2-1/2" square of Whisper White. It's layered onto a 2-5/8" square of Grapefruit Grove cardstock and popped up onto a 3" square of Pool Party.

Floral Décor—I stamped the smaller Painted Seasons flower in Pool Party onto Whisper White and die-cut with the upcoming Four Seasons Framelits. The leaves are stamped the same as the first card in Call Me Clover ink.

Finishing Touches—Same baker's twine bow and same Artisan Pearls, still super-cute!

Inside The Card—Add a 2-3/4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White cardstock on the inside for your message! I love the inside of this card! Gorgeous!

Meant To Be Full Ombré Heart Valentine's Cards

The Stamparatus Hinge Technique is so fun for making repetitive backgrounds like the hearts on these Meant To Be Valentine's cards! I shared how to do a simple line of ombré hearts on yesterday's post, Meant To Be Ombré Hearts Cards, which includes a helpful video. For today's cards, I extended the technique to go across the full background. The Stamparatus makes it so easy!

Hinge Technique—I started with a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Whisper White. The technique for hinge stamping a full background is very similar to the basic hinge stamping I showed yesterday, we just need a different starting point...

Stamparatus hinge technique - full background 1

I positioned my Whisper White layer onto my Stamparatus with the hinge on the right and the paper in the top right corner. I took out the black foam layer so I could use the measuring grid on the base of the Stamparatus. If you need the foam, you can add a Grid Sheet over the top to help measure.

With the paper flush to the top right, position the stamp upside-down on the top left side of the paper. Please note, the paper I show in the photo is a little larger than the layer I used in this project. For this card, you'll need to position the image about 1/8" from the top edge of the paper and about 1/16" from the side...it's a tight fit. Be sure to add a magnet to keep the layer from shifting.
Ink the stamp and close the plate to stamp it onto the cardstock.
Lift the plate so it's perpendicular to the base, remove it, then move it to the next hinge down. Stamp again without re-inking.
Repeat this process all the way down.

For the second line of hearts, re-position your cardstock so that the right edge of the paper lines up with the 1" mark. Hold in place with the magnet.

Ink the stamp again and stamp. Move the plate down the hinges to stamp each heart without re-inking.
Continue moving the cardstock over in 1" increments across and hinging all the way down until the background is covered.

Meant to be full ombre heart - razzleberry 2

Background Basics—Once the stamping was completed, I layered it onto a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Lovely Lipstick Foil Sheets, from the FREE Foil Sheets Sale-a-Bration selection. TIP: Before adhering the stamped piece to the foil, I die-cut the large Be Mine Stitched Framelits heart from the middle of the foil. No need to waste that foil that will be covered anyway!

I mounted the layers onto a Rich Razzleberry card base.

Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the Meant To Be sentiment in Rich Razzleberry ink onto Whisper White cardstock, then die-cut it with the Be Mine Stitched Framelits. I layered that onto the Lovely Lipstick Foil heart that I had die-cut from the center of my background foil layer with the same framelits. The hearts are popped up with Dimensionals.

Finishing Touches—I colored three Rhinestone Jewels with the Rich Razzleberry Dark Stampin' Blends Marker and floated them around the sentiment. Perfect!

Two Cool—I couldn't wait to try this fun technique with a non-traditional Valentine's Day color like Bermuda Bay!

Happy Hearts—This time I layered the hearts onto Champagne Foil, then mounted it onto a Bermuda Bay card base. I die-cut the heart from the center of my Champagne Foil layer. The sentiment is in Bermuda Bay and the Rhinestones are colored with a Bermuda Bay Dark Stampin' Blends Marker before applying.

Meant To Be Foil Heart Ombre - lovely lipstick

Background Basics—The background begins with a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White. I positioned the Meant To Be striped heart stamp in the corner of my Stamparatus, lining it up upside-down less than 1/4" inch from the top edge and about 3/8" from the side edge. Here's the basic set-up to give you an idea...

Hinge Technique—Once the heart stamp is in place, you ink it up in Rich Razzleberry ink and stamp onto the cardstock. Then, without removing the stamp, move the Stamparatus plate down to the next hinge and, without re-inking, stamp the second heart image. Repeat the same process all the way down the card without adding anymore ink. If you position it right at the top, you should have just enough space to stamp that last heart image. Too Cool!

Adhere the stamped layer onto a Rich Razzleberry card base.

Foil Focal Point—I die-cut the intricate heart using the Be Mine Stitched Framelits and the Lovely Lipstick Foil Sheets from the Sale-a-Bration flyer. The Foil Sheets pack includes four 12x12" sheets of Lovely Lipstick Foil and Grapefruit Grove Foil, and you can earn them for FREE with a $50 order during Sale-a-Bration! When die-cutting, be sure to use the Precision Plate for best results. I adhered the die-cut with Liquid Multipurpose Glue sponged or dabbed onto the back.

Finishing Touches—I stamped the Forever Lovely sentiment in Rich Razzleberry onto a 2" x 3/8" strip of Whisper White. I layered that onto a 2-1/2" x 1/2" piece of Berry Burst cardstock and fishtail cut the ends. It's popped up with Dimensionals onto the card front. I finished by adding a few Berry Burst Artisan Pearls floating around the heart.

Two Cool—I wanted to try out the Grapefruit Grove Foil as well, so I started my second card with a Grapefruit Grove card base.

Hearts—This time I used Poppy Parade ink for the heart. I think I mention in the video that it's Calypso Coral, but I really started with a darker color. One of the hearts sure does look like Calypso Coral, though.

Heart Focal Point—I stamped a larger Meant To Be heart onto the card base in Poppy Parade ink, then die-cut a pretty Grapefruit Grove Foil scalloped & stitched heart using the Be Mine Stitched Framelits. It's adhered with Multipurpose Glue.

Finishing Touches—The sentiment is stamped in Poppy Parade and this time I punched it out with the Classic Label Punch. It's layered on a strip of Petal Pink than I hand-trimmed to match the Classic Label shape. I used a different color of Artisan Pearls that match perfectly!
