Peaceful Deer Stamp-a-Stack Cards
Holiday cardmaking goes much quicker when you stamp a stack of similar cards and today's layout is perfect for that! Not only is the design versatile enough to use with ANY stamp set, whether it's Christmas, birthday or thank you themed, it also makes efficient use of cardstock and Designer Series Paper!
I borrowed this cool class idea from Ronda Wade with her permission.
Stamp-A-Stack White Background Basics—The first three cards from this class begin with a Thick Basic White card base. I cut the cardstock sheet in half, then trimmed a 3" piece off of that half. I ended up with a 5-1/2" x 5-1/2" square that I scored at the 4-1/4" mark to make a shortened card front. I trimmed the 3" piece I cut off down to a 3" x 4" piece that I used for the focal point stamping layer!
Designer Series Paper Card Front—Next, I cut a 4" x 5-1/2" piece of each of the Peaceful Print Designer Series Paper patterns to use to make all the card fronts. I adhered it to the back of the shortened card flap, lining the edge up with the far edge of the card. The cool part is that you can see the pattern on the other side of the DSP on the inside of the card! It's perfect for showcasing the beautiful papers from Stampin' Up! Don't forget that this Peaceful Prints DSP is one of the FREE selections from the Sale-a-Bration flyer; choose it with a $50 order!
Dazzling Accent—I finished by adding a 1/2" x 5-1/2" strip of the Be Dazzling Specialty Paper down the seem on the front. This paper was one of the FREE selections from the Sale-a-Bration promotion, but unfortunately, this awesome paper is now SOLD OUT! I should have enough in my stash to fulfill all my LIVE Class Kits, but if I'm running low, I'll substitute the pretty Brushed Metallic Paper.
Deer Celebration—I used that Thick Basic White cut-off piece for the focal point, stamping the Peaceful Deer sentiment along the bottom in Real Red ink and the snowflake image across the top in Sahara Sand ink. I adhered the layer onto a 3-1/4" x 4-1/4" Real Red mat, then tied some White Glittered Organdy Ribbon around the layers. It's popped up onto the card front with Dimensionals.
I finished by stamping the Peaceful Deer sentiment deer image in Real Red ink onto scrap Basic White, punching it out with the Deer Builder Punch, then popping that up, as well.
Two Cool—The second card from the class has the same Thick Basic White card base with a different pattern from the Peaceful Prints DSP pack.
Lovely Forest—I stamped some of the Peaceful Deer trees on the focal point of this one in Garden Green and added a sentiment at the bottom in Soft Suede. I matted the layer onto Garden Green this time and tied with the Glittered Organdy Ribbon. I finished by stamping the jumping deer image in Soft Suede and coloring him in with Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends Markers. He's punched out and popped up with Dimensionals. Easy peasy and oh, so cute!
Three Cool—The last card with a white card base has a Sahara Sand pattern of Peaceful Prints DSP for the card front.
Dear Friendship—I stamped a different sentiment in Garden Green ink at the bottom. I stamped the snowy ground image, deer and antlers in Soft Suede ink and colored in the deer with Crumb Cake Blends again. I finished by matting the layer onto Sahara Sand and popping up.
Four Cool—The last three cards from this class feature a Basic Black card base with a little bit different measurements. I cut the card stock in half, then trimmed off a 3-1/4" piece from the end, making a card base measuring 5-1/4" x 5-1/2". I scored that at 4-1/4" along the shorter side for the card base. The trimmed off piece was then cut down to 3-1/4" x 4-1/4" and will become the mat layer for the focal point! You could use any color for your stack of cards with the same measurements.
Like the previous cards, I adhered another pattern of Peaceful Prints DSP to the back of that shortened card front and added a strip of Be Dazzling Specialty Paper.
Best Time of Year—I stamped the three Peaceful Deer tree images across a 3" x 4" piece of Basic White, stamping off on some for depth. The sentiment was stamped at the bottom in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. The focal point is layered on that Basic Black piece, then tied with the Black & White Gingham Ribbon and popped up.
Five Cool—I added a Real Red snowflake DSP pattern to this card...ohh, that is my favorite print from this pack!
From All Of Us—I stamped the sentiment in Real Red and added the two large deer images at the top in Memento Black. For the smaller deer, I stamped the image in Memento Black onto a leftover scrap from the same DSP pattern, trimmed it out and popped it up. It's tied with more gingham ribbon to finish.
Six Cool—The final card features the last of the six DSP patterns and another Peaceful Deer sentiment, inked in Real Red. I stamped the jumping deer in Memento Black onto Sahara Sand cardstock, punched it out and popped it up. I stamped the antlers onto the white piece before adding the deer. I also turned this one into Rudolph with a Real Red Rhinestone. I'll add a couple of those to your kit, so you can have some Rudolphs, too!
I hope you love this fun & easy layout as much as I do! Remember, if you don't have the Peaceful Deer stamp set, you can always substitute with any holiday stamp set you have on hand. And, use the same layout idea with other stamp sets and DSP to make a quick stack of birthday, thank you or even sympathy cards. Have fun stamping your stacks!
