Beautiful Friendship Background Bouquet Cards

Hi Stamping Friends!

Beautiful Friendship Background Bouquet Cards

The Beautiful Friendship stamp set is perfect for creating amazing floral backgrounds. It's stunning what you can create with these stamps with just ink and paper!

Beautiful friendship background bouquet - blueberry

Background Basics—I started with a 5-1/4" x 4" piece of Whisper White, then stamped Beautiful Friendship images in the following order:

Large rose double flowers stamped twice in So Saffron ink.
Large cluster flower stamped three times in Seaside Spray.
Small rose stamped in Mango Melody five times in the blank areas.
Small cluster stamped in Blueberry Bushel stamped off once to fill in some of the blank areas.
Large & small flower centers in Blueberry Bushel.
Leaves stamped in the remaining blank areas in Pear Pizzazz ink.

The background layer is mounted onto Blueberry Bushel card base.

Altered Ribbon—I love the White/Silver Metallic Edge Ribbon because it can be colored to match any project using Stampin' Blends Markers. I used the brush tip of the Dark Seaside Spray Blends Marker to create this matching blue ribbon. Since it's alcohol-based, the ink spreads easily, blends smoothly and dries quickly.

Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the sentiment from the Band Together stamp set in Blueberry Bushel, then stamped over the top of it with the small rose image in stamped-off So Saffron ink. I punched it out with the Story Label Punch (which I mistakenly called the Timeless Label Punch in the video), then popped up the greeting with Dimensionals.

Finishing Touches—I colored three Rhinestone Jewels with the Dark Seaside Spray Blends Marker and floated them around the card. I love it!

Two Cool—This time, I started with a Pretty Peacock card base and stamped the images the same way with different colors:

Large rose double flowers stamped twice in Pool Party ink.
Large cluster flower stamped three times in Mango Melody.
Small rose stamped in Rococo Rose five times in the blank areas.
Small cluster stamped in Pretty Peacock stamped off once to fill in some of the blank areas.
Large & small flower centers in Pretty Peacock.
Leaves stamped in the remaining blank areas in Pear Pizzazz ink.

Altered Ribbon—The ribbon was colored with the Light Pretty Peacock Blends Marker.

Sweet Sentiment—I used a different sentiment from the same Band Together set.

Swap card received from Laura Milligan.

Laura's Bird Ballad Best of Friends Swap Card

I participated in an NEW Catalog pre-order card swap and receive lots of samples using the adorable Bird Ballad suite! This card was created by Laura Milligan and I love the way the pretty papers and sweet bird image comes together so beautifully!

Background Basics—Laura began by adding a couple of panels of Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper to a Thick Whisper White card base. The first polka dot layer measures 5-1/2" x 1-1/2" and the second floral layer measures 4" x 2-3/4".

Sweet Sentiment—Laura stamped the greeting in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto a 2-3/4" x 1/2" strip of Whisper White that was fishtail cut on one end. She sandwiched the strip between the two layers of the focal point.

Focal Point—Laura stamped the Free As A Bird songbird image in Memento Black ink onto a Whisper White Stitched Shapes square die-cut. She colored in the bird with Petal Pink and Pool Party Stampin' Blends Markers, then layered it onto a Coastal Cabana Layering Squares scallop square die-cut and popped up with Dimensionals.

Finishing Touches—Laura finished the card by tying the NEW 5/8" Organdy Striped Ribbon into a knot and attaching it next to the focal point with a Glue Dot. This gorgeous ribbon was so popular during the demonstrator pre-order that it's already on backorder and should be back in stock around June 24.

Swap Card Received from Monika Davis.

Monika's Bird Ballad Thank You Swap Card

The second card today was created by Monika Davis and it uses several of the same elements as Laura's card.

Background Basics—Like the first card, this one begins with a Thick Whisper White card base and floral Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper. The four strips of DSP each measure 1" x 3". What a fantastic way to use small strips of paper to create a larger, eye-catching foundation! It's also a fantastic way to stretch the use of your 6x6" samples if you participate in my Too Cool 2019 Paper Share!

Finishing Touches—Monika wrapped some Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon around the card front and tied it into a knot for some soft, subtle texture.

Focal Point—Monika also stamped the individual bird from Free As A Bird in Memento Black, this time on a Whisper White Stitched Nested die-cut. These cool new shaped dies with faux stitching can be bundle with the Free As A Bird stamp set to save 10%! Monika colored her bird with Petal Pink and Pool Party Stampin' Blends Markers, like Laura did on her card, then she add a little Light Crumb Cake under the feet. She finished by stamping the Free As A Bird sentiment in Memento Black and popping up the focal point with Dimensionals.

Abstract Impressions 1000 Hugs Cards

Hi Stamping Friends,

It's the last full week of April, which means this Thursday is my "Last Thursdays" monthly card class! This month, I'll be focusing on SPRING and we'll be using some soon-to-retire products!

Abstract impressions 1000 hugs - two cool

Abstract Impressions 1000 Hugs Cards

I was so relieved that the beautiful Abstract Impressions stamp set would be carrying over into the new catalog. Unfortunately, the lovely Garden Impressions Designer Series Paper that coordinates so beautifully with this stamp set, will be retiring. I adore this pairing and knew that I wanted to create with them one last time.

Off-Set Card Base—This off-set opening card begins with a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" quarter-sheet of Lovely Lipstick for a card base. The actual card is 7" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White cardstock, scored at the 3" mark for the card front. I added a 1-1/2" x 5-1/4" piece of the Garden Impressions DSP to the right inside edge of the card, so that will show when the card is closed.

Two-Step Stamping—The front of the card is mostly layered stamping. I started by stamping the Abstract Impressions sentiment in Lovely Lipstick on the upper part of the card front. Next, I added in the Abstract Impressions floral design in this order:

Stamp the large solid flower in So Saffron ink three times.
Stamp the detailed flower in Crushed Curry over the top of the So Saffron flowers.
Stamp the smaller solid flower in stamped-off Calypso Coral ink around the large flowers.
Stamp the detailed smaller flower in full-strength Calypso Coral ink over the top of the small flowers.
Stamp the leaves images in Soft Sea Foam around the flowers.

Finishing Touches—Once the stamping was done, I mounted the card onto the card base with Tear & Tape Adhesive. Then, I finished by adding some Petal Pink Basic Adhesive-Backed Sequins in the white spaces between the flowers. I was so happy that these soft-colored sequins would be carrying over in the new Annual Catalog! Yippee!

Two Cool—I love the color combination of the second card! This time, I had a Night of Navy card base and I adhered a Night of Navy Garden Impressions pattern to the inside of the card. I wanted a little less of the DSP showing, so the card base was cut to 7-1/4" x 5-1/4" and scored at the 3-1/4" mark. I think this cut is a little better proportioned.

Floral Stamping—This card starts by stamping the sentiment in Night of Navy on the lower half of the card front. The stamped flowers are stamped just like the first card, except the smaller flowers were stamped in stamped-off and full-strength Mango Melody ink.

Finishing Touches—I finished by Soft Sea Foam sequins from the same Basic Adhesive-Backed Sequins pack.

Flowering Desert You're So Awesome Card

I received this swap card from Kay Cogbill and I LOVE the colors so much! It features the pretty Flowering Desert stamp set and is a quick and easy card you can make for a friend!

Background Basics—Kay started this card by stamping randomly over a vertically-folded Coastal Cabana card base with the dotted Flowering Desert image in Coastal Cabana ink.

Stamped Desert—The focal point begins by stamping the Flowering Desert cactus in Coastal Cabana onto a 3" x 4-1/2" piece of Whisper White cardstock. Next, she stamped the larger desert bush in Old Olive ink and the smaller desert plant in Shaded Spruce.

Finishing Touches—Kay stamped the Flowering Desert sentiment in Old Olive ink onto a 3" x 3/4" piece of Whisper White and layered it onto a 4" x 1" piece of patterned paper from the Needlepoint Nook Designer Series Paper. I love the solid color background papers from that DSP! The layers are popped up with Dimensionals. Kay finished the card with a little wooden piece from the now retired Butterfly Elements, but you could get a similar look with the leaves from the Frames Elements embellishments.

Bloom By Bloom People Like You Card

Who wouldn't feel appreciated with this pretty Bloom By Bloom card created by Laura Milligan! I especially love the sentiment layered over the flower image!

Background Basics—Laura started by embossing a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White cardstock with the Dot To Dot Texture Impressions Folder and adhering it to a Call Me Clover card base with Tear & Tape Adhesive. She also adhered a 2-1/4" x 2-3/4" piece of Happiness Blooms Designer Series paper up in the left-hand corner.

Stamped Sentiment—Next, Laura stamped the Bloom By Bloom flower onto a Whisper White piece in the same 2-1/4" x 2-3/4" size. The flower is stamped off once in Calypso Coral and the stem is stamped off once in Call My Clover. The sentiment, from Needle & Thread, is stamped in Call Me Clover over the flower.

Finishing Touches—Laura wrapped a piece of Calypso Coral Ribbon around the sentiment layer and added a 1/4" strip of Call Me Clover under the sentiment, just peeking out from under the ribbon. After popping up the layer with Dimensionals, she also added a small White Baker's Twine bow with a Glue Dot.

Perennial birthday butterflies - two cool

CASEd by Debbie Flattum.

Perennial Birthday Recessed Butterflies Card

Don't miss your chance to get your hands on the lovely Botanical Butterflies Designer Series Paper before it's gone at the end of this month! It's simply spectacular when paired up with the Butterfly Gala Bundle of stamps and Butterfly Duet Punch. Here's a quick and simple pair of cards featuring those pretty spring butterfly shapes!

Background Basics—This card begins by adhering a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of the Botanical Butterflies DSP onto a Gorgeous Grape vertically-folded card base.

Focal Point—I stamped the Perennial Birthday sentiment in Gorgeous Grape ink onto a 2-1/2" x 4" piece of Whisper White. I was careful to leave room on the white piece for the punch and ribbon. Next, I adhered the layer onto a 2-3/4" x 4-1/4" piece of Gorgeous Grape cardstock, then I punched the two butterfly shapes with the Duet Punch.

TIP: For perfect alignment, you can stamp any of the duet butterfly images from the Butterfly Gala stamp set in any color onto the white piece, then it's easier to line up the punch and get it just in the right spot!

TIP: When punching through two layers, I like to line up the punch, press down just enough to hold the paper in place, then lay the punch on the table to punch. This gives you much more leverage and power to get through both layers, and it helps protect your hand from accidentally being pinched.

I tied some Gorgeous Grape Mini Striped Ribbon around the layers, then popped them up with Dimensionals onto the card front.

Finishing Touches—I decorated the butterflies by adding Rhinestone Jewels inside the butterfly shapes to represent the butterfly bodies. So darling!

Two Cool—For the second version, I started with the Lemon Lime Green pattern of Botanical Butterflies DSP mounted on a Basic Black card base. The sentiment is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and mounted the focal point onto a Basic Black layer.

Finishing Touches—I tied some Lemon Lime Twist Ruffled Ribbon around the layers and added black rhinestone jewels from the Faceted Dots embellishments. This one looks a little dressier, don't you think? I love that Lemon Lime Twist In Color with black! I'm surely going to miss that color when it retires by the end of May. If you want anything in that color, don't wait! In Colors and coordinating products will likely be among the first to sell-out once the retired list is released in mid to late April.

"Last Thursdays" Bloom By Bloom Cards

I love the clean, bold images in the Bloom By Bloom stamp set. We'll be stamping these pretty single blooms with the sentiment of your choice at my "Last Thursdays" class this week. I received the first card as a swap from Sandy Carlson, and I CASEd her layout for the second card.

Stamped Bloom—Sandy started by adhering a 1-1/4" x 5" strip of Happiness Blooms Designer Series Paper to a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Whisper White cardstock. Then, she stamped the Bloom By Bloom flower next to the DSP. The flower was stamped first in Lovely Lipstick ink, then the stem in Call Me Clover ink, then the dots above the flower with Night of Navy ink. She finished up with a sentiment from the Love What You Do stamp set in Lovely Lipstick ink.

Lovely Layers—Sandy completed the card by mounting the stamped layer onto a 4" x 5-1/4" layer of Lovely Lipstick cardstock. The Lovely Lipstick 1/8" Grosgrain Ribbon was wrapped around the layer and tied into a double-knot. It's mounted onto a NIght of Navy card base. So simple and pretty!

Two Cool—I created a second card with similar elements, although I still like Sandy's better! I select another small floral pattern from Happiness Blooms DSP for the side, then stamped the bloom in Calypso Coral. The sentiment is from the Birthday Cheer stamp set.

Layered Finish—I adhered the stamp piece onto a 4" x 5-1/4" layer in Petal Pink, tied some Call Me Clover ribbon around the layers and mounted it onto a Calypso Coral card base. This is such a quick card that it would be perfect for mass-producing—stamp a stack!

Lasting Lily Sympathy Cards

Hi Stamping Friends!

I had so much fun with our Occasions Catalog & Sale-a-Bration Kickoff Party stampers yesterday! Thank you all for coming out! Someone pointed out that we had 20 people making 20 cards on the 20th! That's Too Cool!

Today, I'm sharing a quick & easy sympathy card that we created at the event. Unfortunately, I've had to make too many sympathy cards already in January.

Lasting Lily Sympathy Cards

It's always good to have a few sympathy cards on hand, because when you need it, you need it now! The Lasting Lily stamp set is perfect for condolence cards and you can earn it for FREE with an order of $100 or more during Sale-a-Bration! Best of all the two-step images allow the card to come together in minutes, so you can make it quickly whenever you need one.

Background Basics—I started by adding a 4" x 2-1/4" piece of Old Olive striped Needlepoint Nook Designer Series Paper onto a Gorgeous Grape card base. Next, I embossed a 4" x 3/4" strip of Highland Heather cardstock with the Subtle Texture Impressions folder and adhering it across the top of the DSP.

Lovely Lily—I stamped the beautiful Lasting Lily flower image in Highland Heather ink onto a 2-3/4" x 4" piece of Whisper White. This is one of those DisINKtive style stamps, so if you are not getting a clear image, push some of the ink on the ink pad to the sides of the pad with a plastic spoon or old dedicated bone folder (it will stain). A little ink goes a long way and too much ink will make your image look like a blob.

I added the Lasting Lily stem in Mossy Meadow ink.

Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the Lasting Lily sentiment in Mossy Meadow ink and popped up the layer with Dimensionals onto the card front.

Finishing Touches—I attach a Old Olive Linen Thread bow with a "pinched" Glue Dot, then sprinkled a few Gingham Gala Adhesive Backed Sequins around the flower. So pretty!

Details—This time, I replaced the textured strip underneath the stamped layer with a piece of the retired Galvanized Metallic Paper (oh, how I wish that had carried over!). I love how the metallic looks with the Silver Metallic Pearls! It's stamped in Bermuda Bay and Mossy Meadow.

Quick & Easy Botanical Butterflies Cards

The Botanical Butterflies Designer Series Paper is so lovely...have you seen it? It's a Sale-a-Bration selection, so you can get it for FREE when you place a $50 order.

I love that it has beautiful, full-color butterfly and floral patterns on one side and black & white geometric and butterfly patterns on the back. The colors match the Gingham Gala suite of products and the images coordinate with the Butterfly Gala Bundle. It's like a coordination-apalooza! I can't resist items that work so perfectly together! There are SO MANY POSSIBILIES!

Because the DSP is so awesome, you can create a simple card in minutes (which makes it ideal for my 20-Card Party...LOL!)

Background Basics—I started with a 3" x 4" piece of my favorite "wildflowers & butterflies" pattern from the Botanical Butterflies pack. I specifically designed the card to use this size because you can get 12 pieces from one sheet of DSP, making it easy to create a whole stack of cards! I think this design would make a lovely gift set of cards! I adhered the DSP onto a 3-1/8" x 4-1/8" piece of Basic Black cardstock. Next, I tied some of the Grapefruit Grove Organdy Ribbon from the Combo Pack, another Sale-a-Bration selection, around the layers into a double-knot. The complete background is mounted onto a Lemon Lime Twist card base.

Sweet Sentiment—I punched out a Whisper White circle using the 2" Circle Punch, then stamped a greeting from Beauty Abounds on it in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. You could use any sentiment here. I layered it onto a Basic Black Starburst Punch cut-out and popped it up with Dimensionals.

Pretty Butterfly—The butterfly is straight from the DSP, too! There is a pattern on one of the double-sided sheets that is filled with colorful butterflies that fit inside the Butterfly Duet Punch! Too Cool! I'll be sharing a tip on how to maximize your butterflies from that paper on tomorrow's Tip of the Week and I'll show you LIVE on my Facebook LIVE Event on Thursday at my Too Cool Stamping VIP Group page.

I attached the butterfly with Glue Dots in the center and bent the wings up. I finished by adding a single Gingham Gala Adhesive Backed Sequin in blue.

Two Cool—The second version starts with a Grapefruit Grove card base. Everything is the same measurements, I just tried a horizontal design this time.

Circle Décor—This sentiment is also from the Beauty Abounds stamp set. I featured a different color butterfly from the same DSP and a different color of sequins from the same embellishment pack.

OK, time to go make more of these in Balmy Blue, Daffodil Delight and Highland Heather! Wheeeeeee!
