Hippest Hippo With A Flower #1
This first project is a card created by Kelly Acheson. I love the colorful background and simple stamping.
Background Basics—Kelly started with a Calypso Coral card that was 4-1/4" x 11" and scored and folded at the 5-1/2" mark. She stamped the Hippest Hippo image in Petal Pink ink all over the background of a 4-1/2" x 4-1/4" piece of Petal Pink, then adhered it to the middle of the card front.
Next, she stamped a Hippest Hippo sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black onto a Basic White Stylish Shapes circle die-cut and adhered it to the card front. She finished by adhering two 3/4" x 4-1/4" strips of Rings of Love Designer Series Paper to the front; one on either side.
Both the Hippest Hippos and Rings of Love DSP are selections from the Sale-a-Bration Flyer for placing a $50 order thru August.
Hip Hippo—Kelly stamped the Hippest Hippo in Memento Black ink onto Smoky Slate cardstock, then used the coordinating Hippo Dies to cut it out. The dies are also able to be earned with a $50 order. The image in popped up with Dimensionals.
Finishing Touches—She finished by die-cutting a Petal Pink flowers with the Hippo Dies and adhering it to the top of the stamped flower in the hippo's hands with a Glue Dot. She added an Iridescent Rhinestone on top for some sparkle. Then, she added a triple bow created with the Essentials Baker's Twine and attached it with a Glue Dot. So sweet!
Hippest Hippo With A Flower #2
Dena Rekow created this super-cute Hippest Hippo swap card. I love the bright, bold background and simple stamping on this one!
Background Basics—Dena began by embossing a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Basic White cardstock with the Brick & Mortar Embossing Folder. She layered that onto a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Granny Apple Green cardstock, then mouned it onto a Thick Basic White card base.
Sweet Sentiment Layer—Dena stamped the Hippest Hippo greeting in Memento Black ink onto the top of a Granny Apple Green layer die cut with the Deckled Rectangles Dies. It's tied with some Linen Thread, then popped up with Dimensionals..
Hip Hippo—Dena stamped the Hippest Hippo image in Memento Black ink onto Basic White cardstock, then used Stampin' Blends Markers to color it. She used Smoky Slate for the hippo body, Bermuda Bay for the eye, Petal Pink for the cheeks, Real Red for the flower, Granny Apple Green for the leaf and Highland Heather for the toes. It's die-cut with the Hippos Dies and popped up with more Dimensionals. She finished with a few Iridescent Rhinestones floating around the background.
