Sending Smiles Scalloped Rectangle Cards
We're playing with NEW In Colors Tahitian Tide and Orchid Oasis today with two lovely cards with an off-set card front.
Background Basics—The Tahitian Tide card base is 5-1/2" x 7-1/2" and is scored at the 4-1/4" mark. I embossed a 3" x 5-1/4" piece of Tahitian Tide with the Pretty Flowers Embossing Folder and adhered that to the shorter card front. For the inside, I added a 1" x 5-1/4" piece of Tahitian Tide Designer Series Paper to the edge of a 4" x 5-1/4" Basic White piece.
Focal Point—I stamped the Sending Smiles stem in Parakeet Party ink onto a 1-7/8" x 3/1/4" piece of Basic White, leaving room to stamp the flowers. The larger profile bloom was stamped in Tahitian Tide ink and the smaller bloom in Polished Pink ink. The flower centers are stamped with Mango Melody. I layered that onto a Tahitian Tide Scalloped Contours die-cut and popped it up onto a 2-5/8" x 3-7/8" Parakeet Party layer. The focal point is mounted onto the shortened card front with SEAL Adhesive, so that it hangs over the edge just a bit.
Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the Sending Smiles sentiment in Polished Pink ink onto a smaller Sending Dies label die-cut and adhered it with SEAL across the bottom.
Finishing Touches—I tied some Tahitian Tide Metallic Woven Ribbon around the card front, fraying the ends. Then, I colored a few Rhinestone Jewels with a Tahitian Tide Dark Stampin' Blends Marker to make it perfectly match the card.
Inside The Card—Before adding the strip of DSP to the Basic White layer, don't forget to add more flowers! So pretty!
Two Cool—My second version begins with a Thick Basic White card base and Basic White embossed layer on the front. Instead of DSP, I embossed a 1-1/4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White with the Stripes & Splatters Embossing Folder Pack.
Focal Point—This time the flowers are stamped with Orchid Oasis and stamped-off Orchid Oasis with Polished Pink for the centers. Did you notice that I changed the larger flower? I layered it onto an Orchid Oasis scalloped rectangle and stamped the sentiment with Orchid Oasis, too. Finished up with Orchid Oasis Metallic Woven Ribbon and Rhinestones colored with an Orchid Oasis Blends Marker.
