Sweet Pop of Petals Alaska Swap Cards

Hi Stamping Friends!

We were asked to bring 26 swap cards along with us on the Alaska Cruise; 25 for other stampers and 1 for Stampin' Up!  I love receiving swaps from other stampers, not only for the awesome new ideas for stamp sets I already own, but to see some examples of sets I'm thinking about purchasing.

Today, I'm sharing a couple of cards with the Pop of Petals stamp set, which I haven't purchased yet, but I'm thinking it needs to be on my Wish List! What do you think?

1 Pop of Petals Thanks
Pop of Petals Thanks For All You Do Card

I adore the simple & stunning design of this thank you card created by Connie Stewart at Simply Simple Stamping.  This is a perfect design for duplicating quickly to produce a stack of thank you cards.  You could very easily swap out the designer series paper and coordinating color to fit the supplies you have on hand.

Background Basics—Connie scored along the 8-1/2" side of a Whisper White Thick card base at the 1-5/8", 1-3/4", 3" and 3-1/8" marks, along with the 4-1/4" mark for the center fold.  She adhered a 5-1/2" x 1" strip of Pineapple Punch In Color Designer Series Paper in between the score lines.  She also stamped the Friendly Expressions greeting in Pineapple Punch ink in the lower right corner under the score lines.

Pop of Petals—Connie stamped one of the Pop of Petals blooms two times in Pineapple Punch ink onto Whisper White cardstock.  It's punched with the Four-Petal Punch.  The leaves are created by stamping another Pop of Petals image in Call Me Clover ink.  It's punched out, too, then two leaves are trimmed off and it's tucked under one of the blooms.  The top bloom is popped up with Dimensionals.  Connie finished the card by adding a few floating Rhinestone Jewels.  So pretty!

Pop of Petals butterfly
Pop of Petals Make Your Dreams Happen Swap Card

This card by Helga Hopen in Germany is a stepped-up design featuring the Pop of Petals image as a butterfly, along with a pretty collage of layers.  This is a non-traditional size card, but it could easily by modified to make it fit a standard A2 Medium Envelope, if desired.

Background Basics—Helga started with a 9-3/4" x 4-7/8" piece of Whisper White card stock, scored at the half-way mark at 4-7/8".  She embossed the 4-1/4" x 4-1/4" Whisper White background with the Softly Falling Texture Impressions Folder, then adhered it to a 4-1/2" x 4-1/2" piece of Soft Sea Foam, then mounted it to the card front.

Sweet Sentiment—Helga stamped the Bokeh Dots background image in Soft Sea Foam ink onto Whisper White cardstock, then stamped the Swirly Frames circle image in Memento Tuxedo Black over the top.  It's die-cut with the Layering Circles Framelits.  She added some sweet hearts from the Love You To Pieces stamp set in Soft Sea Foam and Powder Pink ink over the circle, then stamped the Sunny Days greeting in Memento Black on top.  The circle is popped up with Dimensionals.

Focal Point—Before adhering the circle, Helga added some layers of leaves.  One layer is in Vellum cardstock, die-cut with the Eclectic Layers Thinlits. The other two Soft Sea Foam leaves were die-cut with the Foliage Frame Framelits.  They are tucked underneath the sentiment circle with Glue Dots.  This time the Pop of Petals image is stamped in Powder Pink and is meant to represent a butterfly instead of a bloom!  How cool!  It looks like she used a Blender Pen over the outline to color in some of the areas on the butterfly. Helga punched out with the coordinating punch, then added some wire antennae under the butterfly before popping it up with Dimensionals.  Love it!
