Petal Promenade Glimmer Thank You Cards

Hi Stamping Friends!

When you need a quick handmade card, I love letting Designer Series Papers do all the work!  There are so many beautiful patterns from which to choose!  Pick your favorite to create a pretty background, use the colors in the paper as your palette, add a simple sentiment and finish with an accent.  It's a simple formula that works every time!

Today, I'm sharing a couple of quick & easy cards that I created in just minutes with this method. We'll be making the first card at this month's "Last Thursdays" monthly card class!  Please Note: I had to change the date of my class this month, due to my Alaska Cruise incentive trip next week.

Petal Promenade thank you - two cool
Petal Promenade Glimmer Thank You Cards
I shared a Petal Promenade DSP project yesterday, and today I'm sharing another using some of the other patterns in the pack.  Check out this cool video to see the process for making this paper: The Making of Petal Promenade DSP.

Background Basics—I started by stamping a pretty trellis pattern from the Graceful Garden stamp set in Fresh Fig ink onto a Fresh Fig card base. I stamped several times along both the top and bottom of the card front until all the space was filled in.  Next, I layered a 5-1/2" x 2-3/4" piece of Petal Promenade DSP onto a 5-1/2" x 3" layer of Mossy Meadow cardstock and adhered it with SNAIL to the card base.

I wrapped some Berry Burst 3/8" Mini Ruffled Ribbon around the card front and tied it into a knot on one side of the card.  You can see the pretty trellis stamped pattern really well on this photo.

Sweet Sentiment—I die-cut the sentiment from Rose Glimmer Paper using the Thank You Thinlit die.  This is a single die, but it's a fantastic one to add to your collection!  I love die-cutting glimmer papers and foil sheets with it to make a bold and elegant focal point!  TIP: Be sure to use the Precision Base Plate to die-cut this thinlit for best results.

New & improved Glimmer Paper—I need to SHOUT about the new Glimmer Paper—the glitter STAYS ON!  It was so frustrating working with the old glimmer paper because you'd end up with glitter everywhere—on your hands, on your clothes, all over your work surface and Big Shot—but not anymore!  You can rub your finger over the glimmer and it doesn't come off! WOOHOO and YIPPEE!  So, so much better!  Also, the paper is just a tad thinner, so it's a little easier to use with die-cuts like this one.  I found it was super-easy to work with on this card!

I adhered the die-cut onto the largest Stitched Shapes Framelits oval with Multipurpose Glue, then popped up the oval with Dimensionals onto the card front. I finished by adding a couple of silver Metallic Pearls that perfectly match the gray colors in the DSP.

Two Cool—The second version features one of the DSP patterns that has pre-printed floral rectangle borders.  I simply cut out the rectangle to 4-3/4" x 3-1/4" and layered it onto a 5" x 3-1/2" piece of Berry Burst cardstock.  It's popped up onto the card front.  So fast!

Background Basics—I layered a 3-1/4" x 4-1/4" piece of Petal Pink cardstock onto a Gray Granite card base for the background.

Sparkly Sentiment—This time, I popped up the Thank You Thinlit Rose Glimmer die-cut with Dimensionals.  I used my Paper Snips to trim the border of the Dimensionals sheet to thin pieces to fit behind the letters.  I love the look of the words raised up!  Too Cool!  I finished with a couple of Share What You Love Artisan Pearls. What a pretty & easy, no-stamp card!
