Healing Hugs Gorgeous Grape Thanks Card

I adore the color combination of this card by Dianne Nicholson! My favorite part is the way she layered the White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon over a color strip for a lovely, textured background element!

Background Basics—Dianne adhered a 5-1/8" x 7/8" strip of Gorgeous Grape cardstock onto a 5-1/8" x 3-7/8" layer of Whisper White. She stamped the retired Avant Garden sentiment in Gorgeous Grape ink right above the strip. After wrapping some of the White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon around the layer and securing the ends to the back, she adhered it onto a 5-1/4" x 4" piece of Gorgeous Grape. It's mounted onto a Whisper White card base.

Floral Focal Point—Dianne stamped the beautiful Healing Hugs flower in Gorgeous Grape ink onto Whisper White and fussy-cut it out with super-sharp Paper Snips. She stamped the Healing Hugs leaves in Lemon Lime Twist and cut those out, as well. They are adhered to a Whisper White 2-1/8" Stitched Shapes square die-cut with SNAIL for the leaves and Dimensionals for the flower. That's layered onto a 2-3/8" square and mounted onto the card front. She added some pretty Wink of Stella clear shimmer to the bloom as a finishing touch! So pretty!

Healing Hugs Healing Vibes Card

I received this card from French demonstrator Cécile Chesneau and I adore it! It's a CASE of a sample in the catalog and it looks amazing in person!

Background Basics—Cécile stamped the Healing Hugs leaves image three times in Soft Sea Foam to create a base for the bloom. She also added the little pattern image a couple of times in Soft Sea Foam for some extra texture.

Sweet Sentiment—Cécile stamped the sentiment from Healing Hugs in Highland Heather ink onto a 4-1/4" x 1-1/2" piece of Soft Sea Foam and popped that up onto the card front with Dimensionals.

Focal Point & Finishing Touches—She stamped the Healing Hugs flower in Flirty Flamingo ink and hand-cut it out. Before popping it up with more Dimensionals, she added a loop of Linen Thread behind the flower so it just peeks out from behind. She finished with a few Adhesive-Backed Sequins floating around the bloom. Lovely!

Garden Impressions So Much To Love Front Flap Card

The front flap card is one of my favorite, easy-to-create, fun fold cards right now. I love how Renee decorated her swap card with the Garden Impressions DSP.

Background Basics—The 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" quarter sheet of Petal Pink cardstock creates the base of this card. Renee added a 4-1/4" x 1/2" strip of Garden Impressions DSP across the middle of the base.

Next, she created the front flap with a 3-1/4" x 10" Soft Sea Foam, scored at the 5-1/2" mark. It's adhered to the card base with Tear & Tape Adhesive. A 3" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White was added to the inside for the card's message.

Sweet Sentiment—Renee finished the card by stamping the Abstract Impressions sentiment in Lovely Lipstick ink onto Whisper White cardstock. She also used two of the Abstract Impressions images to create a little butterfly. The body is stamped in Soft Sea Foam and the wings are stamped in Petal Pink. It's punched out with the 2-1/4" Circle Punch, then layered onto a 2-1/2" circle die-cut with the Layering Circles Framelits from Soft Sea Foam. It's popped up onto the flap with Dimensionals.

Springtime Impressions Two Blooms Card

Marcia Gay created this pretty card featuring the Garden Impressions DSP along with some bitty blooms from the coordinating Springtime Impressions Thinlits.

Background Basics—Marcia adhered a 4" x 5-1/4" Whisper White layer onto a Shaded Spruce card base to start. Next, she layered a 2" x 5-1/4" piece of Garden Impressions DSP onto a 2-1/4" x 5-1/4" layer of Lovely Lipstick. She tied a 1/8" Shaded Spruce Metallic Ribbon around the layers, then adhered it to the card front with SNAIL.

Sweet Sentiment—Marcia stamped the Abstract Impressions greeting in Shaded Spruce ink onto a 2-1/4" square of Whisper White. It's layered onto a Lovely Lipstick scallop square die-cut with Layering Square Framelit, then layered onto a 2-5/8" square of Shaded Spruce and popped up with Dimensionals.

Bitty Blooms—The two blooms and leaves are cut from Lovely Lipstick, Daffordil Delight and Shaded Spruce cardstock with the large floral thinlit from the Springtime Impressions Thinlits. Marcia cut the different colored elements from the original die-cut and adhered them with Multipurpose Glue.

When I was searching for some ideas a came across a cool fancy-fold card by Kate Morgan that does a fantastic job of showing off the double-sided papers in Nature's Poem DSP. I couldn't wait to duplicate it and I loved it so much I ended up making them for our Too Cool Team swap in July.

CASEd from Kate Morgan at Craft With Kate.

Nature's Poem Thinking of You Cards

Once you create one of these cool fun-fold cards, you'll want to try it on all of your favorite papers! I love how it shows off both sides so beautifully!

Background Basics—I began by doing an exact CASE of Kate's card because I adored it so much! The card starts with a 12" x 5-1/2" piece of Designer Series Paper scored with the Simply Scored tool at the 1-3/4", 4-3/4" and 7-3/4" marks. Fold the DSP accordion-style so that the it shows the patterns you want exposed and crease with a Bone Folder. To give the card so stability, I adhered the back onto a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Soft Suede cardstock. I also secured the front-most flap to the next fold with SNAIL to make a sturdier front flap for the sentiment.

Focal Point Stamping—I stamped the Rooted In Nature sentiment in Soft Suede ink onto a 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" piece of Whisper White cardstock, then mounted it onto a 2-5/8" x 2-5/8" layer of a Soft Suede with SNAIL and popped it up onto a 3" x 3" Grapefruit Grove layer. The whole piece was popped up with more Dimensionals onto the front card flap. I stamped the Rooted In Nature tree in Crumb Cake ink onto Whisper White cardstock, then die-cut it with the Nature's Roots Framelits and adhered it with SNAIL onto the side of the sentiment.

Bundle It & SAVE—Purchase the Rooted In Nature stamp set and the Nature's Root Framelits together in a bundle to save 10%.

Inside The Card—The card pulls open like a Z-Fold card, and I added a 2-1/4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White on the inside for the message.

Lovely Leaves—I created some cute little leaf embellishments using the Nature's Root Framelits. First the leaves were die-cut from Soft Suede and Grapefruit Grove cardstock, then I ran them through the Big Shot again using the matching embosslit that comes in the set. I love the cool vein texture that it creates! They are attached with Glue Dots and adorned with a Grapefruit Grove Nature's Twine bow, also added with a Glue Dot.

Two Cool—I tried a second card with another pattern of the Nature's Poem DSP, keeping most of the elements the same.

This time the sentiment is stamped in Tranquil Tide ink and I included a Tranquil Tide layer mat. I also tried the Soft Suede Twine on the leaves.

Dandelion Wishes With White Craft Ink Card

I received this sweet swap card from Dena Rekow. I love the soft white image against the neutral background. It's a perfect look for a thinking of you or sympathy card.

Stamped & Sponged—This card begins by stamping the Dandelion Wishes image in White Craft Ink on a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Crumb Cake cardstock. The edges of the layer were sponged with White Craft Ink, as well, to create some definition to the frame around the card. It's popped up with Dimensionals onto a vertically-folded Crumb Cake card base.

Finishing Touches—The Dandelion Wishes greeting was stamped in Crumb Cake ink onto a 4-1/4"x 1-1/2" Whisper White layer and adhered onto the card front with SNAIL. Some Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon was tied around the bottom, too.

The Whisper White Adhesive-Backed Sequins look fantastic as the centers of the dandelions.

Dandelion Wishes With Sponged Background Card

I received this sweet swap card from Lisa Marie Smith and I adore the beautiful sunset background as a stunning focal point.

Stamped & Sponged—The 2" x 5-1/2" strip of White Glossy cardstock was stamped with the Dandelion Wishes image and sentiment in VersaMark ink, then heat embossed with Black Embossing Powder and a Heat Tool. Next, the background was colored using Sponge Daubers with So Saffron & Calypso Coral inks. You could also just drag an ink pad across the cardstock in a direct-to-paper technique. It's layered onto a 2-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Basic Black, then mounted onto a Whisper White Thick cardstock base.

The dandelions are topped with some Rhinestone Jewels for sparkle.

Dandelion Wishes One-Layer Stamping Cards

The beautiful Dandelion Wishes stamp set is perfect for sympathy, thinking of you and get-well greetings. I paired it up with the Bokeh Dots stamp set for an easy, one-layer stamped collage. This is another card style that is fun to play with colors! I could have kept going and created 40 cool versions of this one! In fact, I think I'm going to let my "Last Thursdays" class attendees choose the color they want to use!

Background Basics—I started by adding a 5-1/2" x 3/4" border of Bermuda Bay striped Designer Series Paper along the bottom of a Bermuda Bay card base.

Focal Point—I stamped the star-pattern of the Bokeh Dots stamp set in Bermuda Bay ink onto the center of a 4-1/2" x 3-1/4" piece of Shimmery White card stock. I stamped the Dandelion Wishes image in Black Staz-On Ink on the left side and the sentiment in the same in onto the right side. I matted it onto a 4-5/8" x 3-3/8" piece of Basic Black, popped it up with Dimensionals, then finished off this super-easy card with a Pool Party Adhesive-Backed Sequins in the center of the dandelion.

Two Cool—Next, I tried the same elements in Mint Macaron. I used a different image from the Dandelion Wishes for the focal point.

Three Cool—My last card features the elements in Highland Heather and I stamped everything on a vertical card.

Altered Sequins—So, I didn't have a Highland Heather color of sequins in the Adhesive-Backed Sequins assortment, but no worries! I colored the Whisper White sequins from the pack with my Highland Heather Stampin' Blends Marker to alter the color! Viola! Too Cool!

Pop of Petals So Much To Love Card

The Tropical Escape Designer Series Paper is designed to go with the Tropical Chic stamp set, but it's versatile enough to be a foundation for all kinds of floral cards. Ruth Bingle combined it with the 4-petal flowers from the Pop of Petals set.

Background Basics—This card begins with a 5-1/4" x 4" piece of the Blushing Bride patterned paper from Tropical Escape Designer Series Paper mounted to a Shaded Spruce card base. Next, a 5" x 1-1/2" strip of Tropical Escape DSP was fishtail cut and adhered to the background, then a 1" x 4" striped piece from the same DSP was added down the side.

Pretty Petals—Ruth stamped the Pop of Petals flower twice in Blushing Bride ink onto Whisper White cardstock, then punched it out with the coordinating Four-Petal Flower Punch. She stamped another flower image in Shaded Spruce, punched it out and cut it in half to create the leaves for the flower. It's assembled with Glue Dots then topped with a black Faceted Dot.

Bundle It & SAVE—Purchase the Pop of Petals stamp set and matching Four-Petal Flower Punch together in a bundle and save 10%.

Sweet Sentiment—The Abstract Impressions greeting was stamped in Shaded Spruce onto a 2" x 3" piece of Whisper White cardstock. The banner was fishtailed and sponged with Shaded Spruce ink. Finally, she tied some of the 1/8" Shaded Spruce ribbon from the Metallic Ribbon Combo Pack around the banner and popped it up with Dimensionals.

Pop of Petals Front Flap Closure Card

I love this fun-fold card that I received from Renee Kohnke. She also used the combination of the Pop of Petals flowers with the Tropical Escape DSP. Great minds...!

Background Basics—She started by cutting a 1-1/4" strip off the edge of a traditional Basic Black card base, then she used the strip to create the flap! She adhered a 3" x 5-1/4" piece of Tropical Escape Designer Paper to the front panel of the card.

Tropical chic blooms with happiness 2 - renee

Fantastic Flap—Renee scored the 1-1/4" x 5-1/2" strip that was cut off at the 3-1/2" mark and tucked the end of it underneath the 4" x 5-1/4" Whisper White card inside layer. Next, she stamped the sentiment from Varied Vases in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto a 3-1/4" x 1" strip of Whisper White and adhered it onto the front of the flap.

Beautiful Bloom—Renee stamped the Pop of Petals flower in Flirty Flamingo ink onto Whisper White and punched it out with the Four-Petal Flower Punch. The flower is topped with a Rhinestone Jewel that's colored with a Flirty Flamingo Stampin' Blends Marker.

Next, she stamped the leaf from the same stamp set in Old Olive and hand-cut it out. Renee used these elements to create a little latch for the flap.

Tropical chic blooms with happiness 3 - renee

The flower is attached to the card front with a Glue Dot, then the leaf is tucked under the flower and attached with a Glue Dot onto the flap. How clever!

Garden Impressions 6" x 6" Square-Bottom Treat Pouches

I love that you can make these adorable treat pouches with only a 6" x 6" piece of Designer Series Paper! The Garden Impressions 6" x 6" Designer Paper Pack was perfect for making a whole variety of pouches! They all look so pretty to me!

Pouch Basics—With just a few score lines and snips, you can assemble this little pouch quickly and easily! I've listed the steps to make it below, but you can see how it's created by watching this video by the original designer Kim Price: Gift Bag Using 6" x 6" Paper Tutorial.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Start with a 6" x 6" piece of DSP.
Using the Simply Scored tool, score at 1-3/8", then turn clockwise.
Score at the 1-3/8" nark down to the intersecting score line only.
Score at the 2-3/4" mark all the way down.
Score at the 4-1/8" mark down to the intersecting score line only.
Score at the 5-1/2" mark all the way down.
Fold on all score lines.
Using Paper Snips, trim off the small corner.
Snip at the last 4 score lines to the intersecting score line.
Round corners of the second tab with Detailed Trio Punch.
Secure the pouch closed with Tear & Tape on the tab.
Fold bottom tabs in and secure closed with Tear & Tape.
Punch a ribbon hole on the top with the Detailed Trio Punch.
Add treats then tie closed with ribbon & decorate front.

Detailed Trio Punch—Before you assemble the flaps on the bottom, I used the Detailed Trio Punch to round the corners of the second flap. This is the final flap that I folded in to secure the bottom and I love how the rounded corners give it a nice, finished look.

Finishing Touches—We filled the pouches with 3-4 little bite-size candies, then closed it up with ribbon. The Detailed Trio Punch was also used to add the Ribbon Slide hole a the top of the pouch. That little punch sure comes in handy! The 3/8" Whisper White Classic Weave Ribbon was threaded through the ribbon hole, then tied with the Silver & Petal Pink Baker's Twine. This photo gives you an idea of how big the pouch is in relation to my hand.

Sweet Sentiment—The sentiment comes from the Treat Time stamp set, stamped in Night of Navy ink, and it's die-cut with the coordinating Petite Treat Framelits. It's layered onto a Mango Melody Layering Circles die-cut here, and popped up onto a Pacific Point scallop circle from the same framelits. Each of the different patterns has a different combination of sentiment layer colors.

Two More Pouches—Melon Mambo and Night of Navy circles were used on the first pouch; Mango Melody and Pacific Point on the second.

Plus Two More Pouches—Melon Mambo and Shaded Spruce circles were used on the first pouch; Mango Melody and Night of Navy on the second.

Aren't they just the cutest little pouches?! I can see making these with Christmas DSP for holiday stocking stuffers!

Accent Blooms With Stampin' Blends

I love to experiment with color combinations and a card design like this makes it so much fun! There are so many Stampin' Blends Markers from which to choose now, and the bouquet of flowers looks amazing against so many backdrops! I could just make more and more and more of these!

Background Basics—I started by embossing the 5-1/2" x 2-1/4" Pool Party layer with the new Tufted Textures Impressions Folder. Oooh...what a pretty texture...it looks like a quilt or pillow! I used Tear & Tape Adhesive to securely mount it onto a Soft Sea Foam card base. I wrapped some Gorgeous Grape Mini Striped Ribbon around the card front and tied it into a double-knot.

Focal Point—I stamped the Accented Blooms floral image in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto a 3-1/2" x 3-1/2" piece of Whisper White cardstock, then colored it in with Stampin' Blends. I used Highland Heather, Granny Apple Green, Pool Party, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie and Flirty Flamingo. TIP: I like to color in each area with the brush tip end of the light marker first, then add shaded details with the fine tip dark marker, and finish up with the fine tip light marker to blend the darker areas.

I punched the corner detail with the Detailed Trio Punch, mounted it onto a 3-5/8" square of Granny Apple Green, then popped it up over the ribbon with Dimensionals.

Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the Accented Blooms thank you greeting in Highland Heather onto Whisper White scrap, then punched it with the Tailored Tag Punch and popped it up onto the card front.

Two Cool—I didn't have enough striped ribbon to do all 26 cards, so I changed up my color combination a bit to do half of my cards with the Bermuda Bay Mini Striped Ribbon. Two cool is my philosophy, anyway, right? The background panel was changed to Highland Heather to accommodate the change.

Alternate Colors—I swapped out the sentiment with the Accented Blooms "hello" in Pool Party. And, I changed up the coloring on the flowers, adding some Poppy Parade rather than Flirty Flamingo.

Three Cool—We'll be making this stepped-up version at my "Last Thursdays" class on July 31. I changed the background to a Flirty Flamingo embossed layer on a Petal Pink card base. I included some gold accents on this one, starting with Gold Cord Trim wrapped around the card front.

I also mounted the stamped image onto a Gold Foil Sheet layer for a shiny frame.

Golden Sentiment—Finally, I stamped the Accented Blooms sentiment in VersaMark ink and embossed it with Gold Embossing Powder and a heat tool. Wow, that looks amazing, don't you think?

Abstract Impressions Wildflowers Galore Cards

I love when layers and textures and colors coordinate just right! The gorgeous Garden Impressions suite has it all and it all comes together perfectly!

Background Basics—This card begins by adhering a 3/4" x 5-1/4" strip of Garden Impressions Designer Series Paper down the left side of a Flirty Flamingo card base. The Springtime Impressions Thinlits were used to create the Flirty Flamingo intricately cut corner floral design. I love the tone-on-tone look that gives a subtle texture to the card background. It's adhered to the card front with Multipurpose Glue.

Focal Point—The Abstract Impressions two-step flower images were stamped onto a 2-5/8" x 2-5/8" Whisper White Layered Squares die-cut. First the thicker background stems were stamped in Lemon Lime Twist, then the thinner stems were stamped over the top in Shaded Spruce. Next the flower blooms were stamped in Flirty Flamingo and the flower highlights were added in Melon Mambo. It's mounted onto a Lemon Lime Twist scallop square die-cut with the Layering Squares Framelits, then popped up onto the card front with Dimensionals.

Finishing Touches—The Abstract Impressions sentiment was stamped in Pacific Point ink onto a 3" x 3/4" strip of Whisper White. The ends were fishtail cut and the banner was popped up with Dimensionals. The card was finished with a Lemon Lime Twist Ombré Ribbon bow attached with a Glue Dot.

Two Cool—The second card begins with a Melon Mambo card base and die-cut Springtime Impressions flowers.

How about another fun-fold card today! This time, I'm featuring the sweet Tea Room Specialty Designer Series Paper on a quick & easy pocket card!

Tea Room Specialty DSP—What makes this DSP special is that it's lighter weight than traditional DSP, so it's easier to make into envelopes or use for envelope liners. There is also twice as many sheets in the pack, so the paper goes a long way! Although this particular DSP is not included in the current special, it's a fabulous design that you could use with ANY of the beautiful Stampin' Up! Designer Series Papers!

Tea Room Enjoy Life Pocket Cards

I've been creating lots of fun-fold cards lately just to mix it up a bit! Sometimes I forget that fun-fold doesn't have to be difficult or time-consuming. Today's cards are super-easy to create with just a couple of score lines.

Tea Room Pocket Fold Cards - razzleberry

Pretty Pocket—The pocket of this fun-fold card is created with the Tea Room Specialty Designer Series Paper. I started with a 4" x 10-1/2" piece of Tea Room DSP, and scored it at the 1-1/2" and 5-1/4" marks. I used Tear & Tape Adhesive to mount the largest panel of the DSP to a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" quarter sheet of Rich Razzleberry cardstock.

Next, I wrapped some Rich Razzleberry 1/4" Velvet Ribbon around the card base and tied it into a double-knot to secure the front of the pocket in place. You don't need to use any adhesive to create the pocket...nice!

Focal Point—I decorated the front with images from the Enjoy Life stamp set. First, I stamped the sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto a 2-1/4" x 3-1/4" piece of Whisper White. The "love you" part of the sentiment is actually a separate image stamped in Calypso Coral. The two images are designed to be kind of a "fill-in-the-blank" style of stamp. You'll see that the second card uses "miss you" in the blank. Too Cool!

The bottom of the layer is stamped with an Enjoy Life image in Pool Party ink. It's mounted onto a 2-1/2"x 3-1/2" piece of Rich Razzleberry cardstock, then popped up with Dimensionals onto the pocket front.

Pocket Card—I stamped the same wildflowers image in Pool Party ink on the bottom of the 3-1/4" x 4-1/2" Whisper White pocket card. I finished by adding a little Enjoy Life butterfly in Pool Party ink at the top left corner, then I mounted it onto a 3-1/2" x 4-3/4" Calypso Coral cardstock.

Two Cool—On this version, I selected a different pattern of Tea Room DSP and mounted it onto a Coastal Cabana card base. I tied some Bermuda Bay Mini Striped Ribbon around it this time to hold the pocket in place.

Focal Point—You can see the "miss you" image fills in the blank this time in Coastal Cabana. I stamped the wildflowers in Crushed Curry.

Pocket Card—I stamped the wildflowers again in Crushed Curry onto the pocket card, added a Pool Party butterfly and mounted it onto Crushed Curry cardstock.
