Janet's Happy Wishes Best Day Card

Janet Shinn created this card for one of our Too Cool Team swaps and I adore all of the pretty textured layers.  She also used a couple of our soon-to-retire In Colors: Peekaboo Peach and Flirty Flamingo. 

 

Background Basics—Janet started by layering a 5" x 3-3/4" piece of the Petal Passion Designer Series Paper onto a 5-1/4" x 4" piece of Flirty Flamingo cardstock, then mounting it onto a Thick Whisper White cardstock base.  Next, she used the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits to die-cut the round branches shape in the pink Myths & Magic Glimmer Paper. She cut the element in half and adhered them in a staggered position onto the card front with Multipurpose Glue.

 

Sweet Sentiment—Janet colored directly on the Happy Wishes "best" stamp with the Peekaboo Peach and Flirty Flamingo Stampin' Write Markers, then stamped it onto a 3-1/2" wide Whisper White Lots of Labels die-cut.  The additional phrases are stamped in Memento Black Ink.  She covered the back of the label with SNAIL then folded some Peekaboo Peach Crinkled Ribbon onto the adhesive.  It's popped up with Dimensionals.  She finished up by tucking a couple of Flirty Flamingo Pretty Pines Thinlits branches under the label with Glue Dots.

Kim's Happy Wishes Best Friend Card

 

I received this swap card from Kim Vogel and she has some fun textures on her card, too, including awesome Embossing Paste! 

Embossed Background—Kim laid the Pattern Party Decorative Mask over the front of the Melon Mambo card base and spread on some new Shimmery White Embossing Paste from the Occasions Catalog.  After it dried, she adhered a 9-1/2" strip of White Metallic-Edge Ribbon to the card front with Glue Dots. 

 

Sweet Sentiment—Kim stamped the Happy Wishes "best" in Memento Black ink onto a 3-1/2" wide Lots of Labels die-cut, the colored in some of the flowers and leaves with Melon Mambo and Old Olive Stampin' Write Markers.  She stamped the other phrase in Melon Mambo ink, then matted the layer onto a 4-1/8" wide Old Olive Lots of Label shape.  It's popped up with Dimensionals. 

 

 

Finishing Touches—Kim finished the focal point by adding a wooden Touches of Nature Element embellishment with a Glue Dot.  She also finished up the sentiment in Memento Black onto a 1-1/2" x 3/4" piece of Old Olive, then popped that up with Dimensionals.
