It's been a whirlwind of creativity in my Too Cool Stamping studio this week as I'm designing the 20 cards for my big Sale-a-Bration & Occasions Catalog Kickoff Party on January 28!  Since I like to make Two Cool versions of the cards, I'll really be making double—40 cards!  Whew!  I can do it!  I can do it!

Lots of Lavendar Two-Step Stamping Cards

The Lots of Lavendar Sale-a-Bration selection is so pretty and so very easy to color because it's a two-step stamp set!  We'll be making one of these cards at my Sale-a-Bration & Occasions Catalog Kickoff Party!

Background Basics—I started by embossing a 2" x 5-1/2" piece of Perfect Plum card stock with the floral Petal Pair embossing folder.  It's adhered with Tear & Tape to the Crumb Cake card base.

Cool Texture—I chose to lay the textured layer with the "de-bossed" side up so the outlines of the flowers are recessed.  It really gives a whole different look to the background!  Next, I wrapped some Soft Sky Classic Weave Ribbon around the card front and tied it into a double-knot, trimming with my Paper Snips. 

 

Lovely Lavender—The Lots of Lavendar image is stamped in Memento Black Ink onto a Whisper White 2-1/2" x 4-1/8" Lots of Labels die-cut.  I inked up the solid flower two-step image in Perfect Plum and stamped it over the top, coloring the whole bunch of blooms in one quick motion!  I added the Wild Wasabi color on the leaves and stems with three more coordinating two-step stamps!  There's even a little solid bow image to fill in the ribbon with Soft Sky color.  You could certainly accomplish the same thing with markers, but the two-step stamping is SO FAST!  I mounted the label onto the card front with Dimensionals.

 

TIPS: I recommend stamping photopolymer stamps on a Piercing Mat, to get the best, most crisp transfer of ink.  Also, I like to stand up and look straight down over the image when lining up the two-step fill-in colors.

Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the Colorful Seasons greeting in Memento Black Ink onto a 3" x 1/2" strip of Soft Sky cardstock.  I fishtailed the ends with my super-sharp Paper Snips, then popped it up with Dimensionals over the bouquet.  I finished by adding a couple of Basic Pearl Jewels on the banner.

 

Two Cool—My second version has similar elements, but this time I started with a vertically-folded piece of Smoky Slate cardstock for the card base.  I added a 4-1/4" x 3" piece of Soft Sky cardstock, embossed with the Garden Trellis Texture Impressions Folder, along the bottom half of the card front.  I wrapped some of the darling Smoky Slate 1/2" Gingham Ribbon around the card front and tied it into a faux-bow double-knot.

 

 

Focal Point—I didn't change a thing about the stamping and coloring of the Lots of Lavender flowers on this one.  The only thing I did differently was stamp the sentiment on a strip of Smoky Slate and kept one side of the banner flush with the label.  The placement of the Pearls "anchors" the banner and helps to give it some balance and shine!  Really loving this color combination!
