Hi Stamping Friends!

I've shown you lots of projects that I created for the Kickoff Party, and I still have a few more of them to share. Today, I want to show you a beautiful card that Michelle Hoover designed for our event! It was a favorite of mine because it was so stunning, yet so very simple to do! Take a look!

Rose Garden Shimmer Wash Card

Michelle featured the gorgeous die-cut from the Rose Garden Thinlits, along with the matching Rose Wonder sentiments on her card, CASEd straight from the catalog!

Shimmer Color Wash—Michelle started with a Shimmery White card stock card base because it's a fantastic surface for watercoloring. She used the Aqua Painter to paint on a background with a wash of colors: Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight and Pear Pizzazz. The Shimmery White card stock is nice and sturdy, so it won't warp and bend as the water dries like traditional, and thinner, Whisper White card stock.

TIP: Squeeze your ink pads before opening to transfer ink to the lid for your color palette. Or, simply add a couple drops of Refill Ink to the lid of your ink pads if you're doing a stack of these cards.

Shimmer Rose—Next, Michelle die-cut the gorgeous Rose Garden rose shape from Whisper White card stock. With the help of the Precision Plate and Die Brush, that intricate shape cuts out nicely and the pieces release easily from the die and die-cut.

After adhering the delicate piece to the card base with the Fine-Tip Glue Pen, she colored over the entire rose with the Wink of Stella shimmer brush! If you look closely at the photo (click to enlarge), you can see the shimmer from the background Shimmery White card stock and the Wink of Stella details on the rose. Pretty, pretty, pretty!

Cut Border—To finish the card, Michelle hand-cut around the bottom of the rose with Paper Snips to create a lovely boarder on the card front, exposing the Pear Pizzazz Rose Wonder sentiment stamped on the bottom inside of the card.
