Hi Stamping Friends!

I seem to be giving out more and more gift cards and money for Christmas these days, as my nieces and nephew are growing older. I like to make giving money a little more fun by packaging it in a fun & festive holder.

Today, I'm sharing a money holder that is one of the projects that we'll be creating at my Quick & Cool Stocking Stuffer class this Thursday!  Tomorrow is the deadline to RSVP!  Let's take a closer look!

Your presents money holders - two cool

Your Presents Birthday & Christmas Money Holders

Here are two cool little envelopes that are versatile enough to hold gift cards, gift certificates or cold, hard cash!  Both of the projects feature the fun gift package images from the Your Presents stamp set. Those adorable presents are fun to use for all kinds of gift-giving occasions, not just Christmas!

Your presents money holders - birthday

Designed by Janet Shinn & CASEd from Lynn Starlz at Stamping With Lynn.

Birthday Money Holder—Janet Shinn brought this first project to our Too Cool Teams shoebox swap a couple months ago and I loved it! The best part is that it's super-quick to make this cute holder!

Shorter Money Holder Basics—The inside of the folder has a little folder tab pocket that holds either a gift card, or a folded gift certificate, check or cash.  It's designed to fit inside a #6 "check-size" envelope for mailing, but you cannot fit the check inside the holder without folding it.  Here is how to make it…

Birthday Money Holder Instructions

  • Start with a 8-1/2" x 6-1/4" piece of Calypso Coral card stock.
  • Score along the 8-1/2" side at the 3" and 6" marks.
  • Using the Envelope Punch Board, line up the edge of the short panel with the 3-1/2" mark on the board and punch.
  • Trim off the right side of the tab off the top with the Stampin' Trimmer.
  • Adhere the tabbed panel with Tear & Tape Adhesive along the sides to make a pocket.
  • Decorate!

Layer Measurements—The front cover has a 5-3/4" x 2-1/2" layer of Whisper White on a 6" x 2-3/4" layer of Wild Wasabi.  The inside Whisper White layer is 6" x 1-3/4".

Birthday Gifts—The packages are stamped with the images from Your Presents in Calypso Coral and Wild Wasabi.  Janet's card uses the "Kissing" technique to stamp the striped pattern onto the small stamp.  Ink the stripes up and stamp once in one direction, then ink again and stamp again in the opposite direction—directly onto the stamp!  Then stamp the image onto Whisper White card stock.  The gifts and bows are hand-cut and popped up with Dimensionals, then topped with Rhinestone Jewels.

Sweet Sentiment—I used the Happy Birthday, Everyone Hostess exclusive stamp set in Calypso Coral for the large greeting.  Gosh, I love the look of that sentiment!  Notice on the previous photo that I used the second part of the phrase, "to an amazing woman," on the inside tab.  I finished off the front with floating Rhinestones.

Longer Money Holder—I tried a second version that was a little longer, big enough to hold a check or cash without folding.  You have to either make your own envelope or fit it into a standard #10 business envelope.  I also decorated it with a Christmas theme.  This is the project that we'll be creating at the Quick & Cool Stocking Stuffer class.  Here are the adjusted measurements…

Christmas Joy Money Holder Instructions

  • Start with a 8-1/2" x 7" piece of Real Red card stock.
  • Decorate!

Layer Measurements—The front cover has a 6-1/2" x 2-1/2" layer of Whisper White on a 6-5/8" x 2-5/8" layer of Cucumber Crush. The inside Whisper White layer is 6-3/4" x 1-7/8".

Your presents money holders - holiday 2

Holiday Gifts—I stamped my Your Presents gifts in Real Red and Cucumber Crush.

Your presents money holders - holiday 3

Jolly Sentiment—I stamped the "Joy" from Your Presents in Real Red ink, then added a beginning phrase from the Holly Jolly Greetings stamp set in Cucumber Crush.

Inside—I stamped more phrases from Holly Jolly Greetings on the inside.

Oh these cute holders will definitely come in handy this holiday season!

Complete Supplies List—"Clear" means a rubber stamp on a clear block. "Photopolymer" is see-thru.
