September Stamp-of-The-Month Class Kit—Fall Fest Project
Inspired by the Holiday Catalog on page 46.
Today's projects are a sneak peek of one of the card designs we'll be creating at my September Stamp-of-the-Month Class featuring the new Fall Fest Photopolymer stamp set. I got the idea from the Holiday Catalog...do you use the catalogs for inspiration, too?

10 NEW Big Shot Tools In The Holiday Catalog—Fall Fest is featured in the Holiday Catalog along with a coordinating set of Fall Fun Framelits and I highly recommend it for easy cutting and layering of all of these adorable autumn images.
In fact, there are 10 NEW Big Shot tools—framelits, thinlits and embossing folders—that will be introduced in the Holiday Catalog. If you don't have the handy die-cutting and embossing Big Shot machine...you are definitely missing out on a lot of fun and creative versatility on your papercrafting projects!
Background Basics—I know it looks like it's a black card base, but it's really Blackberry Bliss. I stamped the Fall Fest jack-o-lantern faces randomly over the 5-1/4" x 4" Whisper White background with Memento Black Ink. I added a 5-1/4" x 1-1/4" Pear Pizzazz layer over the top as a foundation for the focal point.

TIP: The face stamps are pretty small, so I attached all three of them to the Clear Mount Block and stamped them at the same time. That background was stamped in no time flat!
Medallion Focal Point—I started by die-cutting a Tangelo Twist starburst circle with the Starburst Framelits. Next, I cut a 1/2" wide, 3-1/2" long piece of Blackberry Bliss patterned Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stack, fish-tailed the end and adhered it to the starburst.
Finally, I used the 2-1/2" Circle Punch to punch a circle, then I embossed it with the Woodgrain Folder. The entire medallion is popped up with Dimensionals.
Smiling Jack-o-Lantern—I inked the pumpkin image with Tangelo Twist ink by strategically placing it over the ink pad to not ink the stem. Then I colored in the stem with the Pear Pizzazz marker. Finally, I select a pumpkin face and stamped that over the top in Memento Black Ink. The shape is die-cut with the matching Fun Fall framelit.
Lovely Leaves—I also stamped the leaves image in Pear Pizzazz on Whisper White and die-cut that with the matching Fun Fall Framelit. Whew! Thank goodness I didn't have to cut that one out! It's adhered with SNAIL to the medallion, and the pumpkin is popped up with Dimensionals.
TIP: I've found that, although you can color with markers on photopolymer stamps for multicolored designs, it does not have the same results as the red rubber stamps. I try to use ink directly from the ink pad as much as possible for a clear, full-coverage, non-streaked image.
TIP: When stamping with Photopolymer, it's good to have something both firm and cushiony as your stamping surface. The Piercing Mat actually has just the right combination of firm and cushion, so I have a separate one with no piercing that I have dedicated to stamping with photopolymer stamps.
I tried a vertical version and a different style pumpkin for my second card.
Oh, these jack-o-lanterns are so adorable! Mixin' & matchin' fun!
Sweet Sentiment—Both cards where finished with seasonal phrase from a brand new Hostess set called Good Greetings! You are going to LOVE this mega-versatile set that includes every occasion you can think of in that cheerful, handwritten font. Best of all, you'll be able to earn this set for FREE when you have a workshop of $300 starting in September. More details to coming soon!
I stamped the words in Blackberry Bliss on Whisper White, and they fit perfectly in the Modern Label Punch shape. I added another Tangelo Twist colored punched layer to the back for an extra bit of color.
