Hi Stamping Friends!

Magnetic platform 130658LI was up in the wee hours of the morning placing orders for the Magnetic Platform making sure that my customers were among the first in line to receive it.  I didn't want to take any chances.  Considering it's still in high demand, who knows when it may sell out again.  Don't miss your chance to get this must-have Big Shot tool!

I'm breathing a sigh of relief after a whole day of thinking that some stampin' thieves stole two orders from my porch yesterday.  Thankfully, after much investigation, and Stampin' Up! kindly re-shipping the orders, the packages turned up at a house one street over.

I'm SO glad we found them, because my Envelope Punch Board was in one order, and I'm planning on using that for one of my Wow Techniques Class projects tomorrow!  Whew!  I can't wait to show you these cute file fold cards you can make with this tool!

Be sure to RSVP today if you want to attend or place your $50 order online for a FREE Class-To-Go kit!

Today's projects are extra goodies that I included with my September Countdown To Christmas class…

Ctc thank yous

First, I made thank you cards for all of my Countdown To Christmas participants in two cool designs.   I used the Season of Style Designer Series Paper on Whisper White 3×3" note cards.

Ctc thanks - cherry

The sentiment is from Chalk Talk and is colored with Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler markers.  I punched it out with the Decorative Label Punch, then layered it onto an Artisan Label Punch shape that I cut in half.  I love the pretty edges it created there!  I finished off the cards with some leftover organdy ribbon that is now retired.

Thank You Cards Supply List:

Ctc candy pull 1

I had several stampers that had registered with a friend, so I gave them each a special "Bring A New Friend" incentive gift—a candy bar in a pull treat holder!

Ctc candy pull 4

Simply pull on the Gumball Green Satin Stitched Ribbon and the Hershey's Chocolate Bar pulls up, too!  I've been making these treat holders for years and I never get tired of them!  They are sure to bring a smile!

I used the retired Slot Punch for my ribbon hole, but you could use any small hole punch.

Ctc candy pull 2

The holder is made with Cherry Cobbler DSP from the Regals Designer Paper Stack.  I wrapped the middled with Season of Style DSP, then topped it with a Festive Flurry Framelit snowflake.  The center image is from Chalk Talk, stamped in Gumball Green, punched with the 1" Circle Punch, and layered onto a 1-1/4" Circle Punch in Cherry Cobbler.  You know I had to add some sparkly rhinestones, just for fun!

Stampin' Up! no longer sells the Crimper Tool, but I saved mine specifically for these treat holders!  I love the look of the crimped end!  You could do a faux crimp by scoring with your Simply Scored Tool.

Create Your Own Candy Bar Pull Treat Holder

You can find the tutorial for these
at Splitcoast Stampers: Candy
Bar Pull Treat

Although the tutorial is for Hershey Bar size,
you can use the same idea for any size of candy bar.

  • Measure your candy so the paper/card stock wraps completely around
it. My DSP was 7" high and 6-1/2" wide to wrap around the bar.
  • Adhere pouch on three sides with Sticky Strip.
  • Punch a hole through the top to create
the ribbon hole.  I used the retired Slot Punch, but you could use any small circle/hole punch.
  • Measure enough ribbon to run length-wise around your candy, and
still have enough to tie.  Use ribbon that is at least 1/2" wide, but
5/8" or 1" is better.  Thread through the slot holes, push ribbon
down into the pouch with the bar, then tie off.
  • Crimp the end with the Crimper or score with the Simply Scored Tool.  This secures the end, so it won't pop open.  Plus, it looks more finished.
  • Decorate!
