Hi Stamping Friends!
There's just a few more days to take advange of the AWESOME Buy 3, Get 1 FREE Designer Series Paper Promotion! Stock up before it ends on July 31, 2013!
This was probably the most popular card from my July "Last Thursdays" class—I had a feeling it would be! It features the beautiful Gingham Garden papers and matching washi tape.
CASEd from Kristi Chowanec.
But, the best part is the unique way in which this card opens!! It starts with a quarter sheet of Melon Mambo card stock (5-1/2" x 4-1/4") as the base, then it's topped with a folded Whisper White piece for the card. That measures 9" x 4" (corrected 7/29/2013) and was scored and folded at the 3-3/4" mark (corrected 7/29/2013). Adhere it directly to the card base for a fun twist on a standard card! Too Cool!
We adhered a 1-1/2" x 4" piece of the Gingham Garden paper to the inside edge of the card, so it would show when the shortened side was closed.
The front of the card is trimmed with a 1" x 4" piece of Melon Mambo that was die-cut with the Adorning Accents Edgelits.
The card front was decorated with three strips of the coordinating Gingham Garden Washi Tape, then accented with Melon Mambo inked flowers from the Secret Garden Stamp set. It's easy to cut those out with the help of the Secret Garden Framelits!
The Sassy Salutations sentiment is stamped in Night of Navy and punched out with the Extra Large Oval Punch. DONE! So easy and cute!
The same design looks great as a vertical card, too!
I changed the border to the Finishing Touches Edgelits and used a different Sassy Salutations greeting, but otherwise, it's the same.

Woohoo For Washi Tape!
My class attendees were definitely loving the washi tape! Have you tried it?!! The rolls are so big—it lasts for a LONG time! I've done multiple cards and several classes and I'm still on my first rolls of this stuff! A lot of bang for your buck!

Angie
love your card design! just wondering if the measurement for the white piece is correct - should it be 4 x 9 1/4" to allow for a border around the whole card when placed on the melon mambo piece? thanks!

Laura J - Thanks for making me double-check my measurements! That will teach me to use my ruler instead of relying on my brain for calculations. You do have to take the border into account, so the actual measurement is 9" x 4" with the score line at 3-3/4". I will correct the directions above! Thanks again for your keen eye!

Thanks for clarifying. So many possibilities for this unique fold! I don't have the Gingham Garden paper so I used Eastern Elegance and Afternoon Picnic. Many thanks for the inspiration!
