Favorites From Convention Demo Presenters—Part 1

Learning new tips and techniques is another fun part of Convention. Stampin' Up! selects several demonstrators to present their own projects, and show us some Too Cool tricks!  I love watching these presentations!

Of course, I'm saving some of the ideas I saw to create my own examples for later posts, but here are a few of my favorites to give you a taste…

Autumn leaves - inked impressions baby wipe leaves   Houndstooth 123134L
Janine Tinklenberg demonstrated several background techniques.  This one features the new Houndstooth Impressions Folder inked in Early Espresso on Soft Suede card stock.  The card also features the Frame It, Autumn Splendor and Pretty Postage stamp sets.  See the details on her post from Stamps, Paper, Scissors.

Gingham card - jan tink   Stripes 123128L

Here's another by Jan Tink using the Cherish Friendship set.  Check out that gingham!  It's made by inking the new Stripes Impressions Folder, then inking it up again and turning your card stock 90°.  How cool is that?!  Fantastic!  She blogged about it here: Gingham Card.

Next, Linda Heller presented some cool ways to use buttons.  She showed several projects created with the new Button Buddies stamp set that is designed to coordinate with buttons.  This Scallop Envelope is lined with some Berry Blossoms DSP and uses the Friendly Phrases stamp set. You can see the complete details on her Button Buddies Cherries Video.

She had some fun ideas for layering buttons with other embellishments, like adding an Antique Brad on this My Friend card.  This card features the My Friend stamp set and Pocket Full of Posies DSP.

But, look at all of these other amazing combinations…Too Cool!

Buttons - layering options

Linda also demonstrated how to use StazOn White or Black ink to stamp on your buttons.  Check out how you can really dress them up with different stamped images…Awesome!

Buttons - stamping on buttons

It looks like she may have used images from the Delicate Doilies set and Fine Flourish.  Love this!

Punches - decorative label frame

LeeAnn Greff presented some fun ideas for using punches!  This beautiful Delicate Doilies card is layered underneath a frame created by multiple-punching with the Decorative Label Punch.  Punch once, do a quarter turn lining up the corners and punching again.  Continue around until you've punched all four sides.  She has details in her Convention post on her Flowerbug's Inkspot blog.

Dress   Frightful sight 122351L

Oh, isn't that cute?  LeeAnn also created this scallop skirt card with the Scallop Circle Die and the Round Tab Punch.  It uses the Frightful Sight DSP (wait a minute…hmmm…I thought this was a Halloween decorative paper. How versatile!) and the new Lucky Limeade Ruffled Ribbon.  More details on her Polka Dot Skirt post.

There were so many amazing ideas!  More to come!
