I'm truly becoming a fan of simple and understated cards lately, and Carmen DeBruce showed us a perfectly elegant example of that style at our May Demo Meeting last week.
This card is so gorgeous, yet it's so quick and easy to put together!
The background is created with Presto Patterns Designer Series Paper. You remember…it includes sheets of white paper with glossy white patterns that resist whatever color ink you add to it. In this case, Carmen used Pear Pizzazz Classic ink (I like to brayer it on, but you could also sponge it) to bring out the pretty French text.
Next, she used the most popular die that Stampin' Up! sells—the Beautiful Wings Embosslit—with Basic Black card stock. The subtle embossed patterns and double-layered butterflies are all it takes to give this card a real wow" factor! Add a couple of Rhinestone Jewels to each butterfly for a classy accent!
I think I'll have to make some of these simply stunning cards myself! And, think of all the beautiful colors you could try with this layout! Lots of fun possibilities!
Carmen even decorated the inside so that it could be used for any occasion…
Oooohh! That tiny butterfly is so darling! Cute, cute, cute!

I’m so glad you shared this card! I keep seeing those butterflies on everyone’s cards and I’m probably going to have to own them soon. I also want to try that paper. Why, oh why, can’t we just order everything, RIGHT NOW!!!
Hooray, I have this die and can’t wait to try this out 🙂
