After a wonderfully relaxing holiday weekend (hope yours was, too), this has been a crazy busy week for me—with NO stamping! Currently, I have several home repair projects going on at once, both inside and out, and one is actually taking place in my craft room.
So, I had to pack up and move lots of my craft supplies, cover up the rest, and pray that drywall dust doesn't seep into every nook and cranny of my cardstock drawers. Between talking to contractors, wrangling my dog to keep him out from under the workers' feet, taking customer calls with hammers pounding in the background, and being essentially confined to one room of the house, it's been...let's just say interesting.
In keeping with the "house" theme, I've also been working to negotiate an offer on the condo I have for sale (I'm crossing my fingers), and have been looking at dozens of homes in hopes of upgrading to a house that I can hold classes in (double crossing my fingers). It's like musical houses around here, and I'll be so pleased (<<<understatement) when the dust settles, so to speak. Heh.
To keep you entertained until I can get back in my stamping studio, I'm going to show you the Treat Swaps that were shared at my last Demo Meeting.
I already showed you one version of this cool Nugget Holder that Carmen DeBruce made in a previous post, but she did another in the pretty Jolly Holiday Designer Paper. You can find a tutorial to make them here.
Our new team member, Tammy LaFaucia, created this creepy Halloween treat bag from a crumpled up and ink-sponged sealed envelope. Not sure if she purchased the ribbon that way, but you can make this frayed ribbon (the black looks like eyelashes) out of grosgrain. Just trim the very edge off of one side of the ribbon, then pull out the the loose threads. I've done a similar technique with green grosgrain to make "grass" on my cards. You can also use the leftover loose threads to create frayed knots on your projects, too. What the heck am I talking about? Find out here. The eerie spider comes from the From The Crypt set.
This tiny hanging treat box (it's actually 1-1/4" square), was made by Darla Eigenschink. She used the Tag Punch to make the sides, then punched holes in the tops and threaded 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon through. The background is decorated with the So Many Stars Builder Wheel. Can't you see a whole Trick-or-Treat Tree filled with these cute little ornaments?! It's also the perfect size to hold two Dove chocolates—YUM! I can't seem to find a link to this idea...can anyone help me out?
Uh oh. I just walked under a ladder...that can't be a good sign.
More soon...hopefully!
Angie
