My early favorite from the upcoming Occasions Catalog is hands-down the Petal Passion suite featuring the Petal Palette stamps and Petals & More Thinlits! The images are beautiful and versatile enough to work for all kinds of techniques! And, the coordinating products are so, so pretty, too!

Today, I'm sharing a little sneak peek from this suite! We'll be making this project at my local "Last Thursdays" class next week.

Petal Palette Emboss Resist Watercolor Cards

The images in the new Petal Palette stamp set have a lovely sketched look, bringing an artist quality to stamped projects! It's designed to be colored—by Blender Pens, Stampin' Blends, Watercolor Pencils, sponging or Aqua Painter! It's guaranteed to look amazing in any medium! For my first project with this set, I couldn't wait to try an emboss resist with watercolor painting.

Sneak Peek #1—I embossed a 1-1/2" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock with the new floral patterned Petal Pair Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. It's adhered to a 4" x 5-1/4" layer of Whisper White. I wrapped a strip of the Pear Pizzazz Shimmer Ribbon around the layer along the edge of the texture, securing the ends on the back with SNAIL, then I mounted the entire layer onto a Whisper White card base.

Sneak Peek #2—I stamped the Petal Palette stamp set sentiment in Sweet Sugarplum ink onto a large Layering Ovals Whisper White die-cut. It's popped up with Dimensionals onto the card front. Next, I stamped the Petal Palette floral focal point in VersaMark ink onto a piece of Watercolor Paper, then heat-embossed with Clear Embossing Powder and a Heat Tool until glossy & smooth.

Watercolor Resist—I used an Aqua Painter with Classic Ink Pads to color over the clear images to make it pop! I squeezed the ink pads before opening to transfer some ink to the lid, making an ink palette. The flowers were colored with Sweet Sugarplum and Berry Burst inks, and the leaves were colored with Pear Pizzazz and Old Olive. I allowed the color to flow outside the lines, and used a tissue to wipe away ink that was resisted by the embossing.

Sneak Peek #3—Once it was dry, I die-cut the image with the coordinating Petals & More Thinlits. I popped up the floral with more Dimensionals. SAVE! You'll be able to purchase both the stamp set and thinlits together in a bundle to save 10%!

Sparkly Accents—I added three sparkly Glitter Enamel Dots to as colorful "water droplet" accents around the blooms. So pretty!

Two Cool—I loved the white version, but I wanted to create a black version, too, to match the cool new paper! I think it's stunning!

Sneak Peek #4—The black & white, floral-themed Petal Passion Designer Series Paper is AWESOME! The patterns can be used on their own, or altered by adding color! LOVE the versatiliy! I replaced the texture embossed panel from the previous card with a 1-1/2" x 5-1/4" piece of this DSP.

This time, I kept the color inside the lines, which I embossed with the retired Black Embossing Powder. Unfortunately, I totally forgot that powder was no longer available! It's OK! Once I have the Stamparatus stamp positioning tool in my hands, it will be easy to duplicate this black embossed look by stamping once in black and again over the top in VersaMark ink for embossing!
