Hi Stamping Friends! 

I posted my brand new Stamp-of-the-Month class yesterday, featuring the Butterfly Basics stamp set. 

I'm so excited about this class, not only because I love this stamp set & the colors, but also because you're getting a better value than ever before!  We're doing TWO COOL cards in each of 4 card styles, for a total of 8 cards with envelopes! 

Today, let's check out one of the card designs you'll be creating with this class kit!

Blackberry Bliss Butterfly Collage—One of the most awesome features about the Butterfly Basics set is it's versatility!  There are 11 different stamps in a variety of styles and sizes: bold silhouettes, lined images and patterned shapes.  Some of the images can be used on their own for a focal point, but all of the images can be combined and layered into fantastic collage backgrounds and accents! 

Background Basics—I started with a Blackberry Bliss card base.  I adore this color of rich purple, but it's not an easy color to photograph, so the card base is looking a little dark here.  I added another layer of 4" x 5-1/4" Blackberry Bliss card stock that was embossed with the Modern Mosaic Texture Impressions Folder.  

Simple Collage Background—I used just a few of the Butterfly Basics elements to create a simple collage that has a very clean look.  The elements go together flawlessly! 

I started with a 4" x 3" piece of Very Vanilla card stock:

• I stamped the leaf image in Pear Pizzazz on the left side, then stamped on either side of it without re-inking for a soft background.
• The diagonal dash borders at the top and bottom were stamped in Blackberry Bliss.
• I added a sentiment in Lost Lagoon ink in the open space.

I matted this stamped background to a 4" x 3-1/4" piece of Lost Lagoon card stock and popped it up on the card base with Dimensionals.

Butterfly Die-Cut—The cute accent was made by stamping the larger Butterfly Basics butterfly in Blackberry Bliss onto Very Vanilla, then die-cutting it with the coordinating Butterfly Thinlits.  I love that lacy pattern!  It's popped up on the background with Dimensionals.

Golden Accent—Each of the cards in the class kit features golden accents.  On this card, I punched out a Gold Foil butterfly with the Bitty Butterfly Punch and attached it to the purple butterfly with a Glue Dot.  After adding some Pearl Jewels for the body, I bent the wings up a bit. 

Two Cool—My second card uses all of the same elements.  Now, your Stamp-of-the-Month kit will also include a second set of the same card design, so you can do TWO COOL cards, too!  Try out each of my card designs, or play with the elements to make your own version!

Alternate Collage—This time, I stamped the borders so they crossed in the bottom left corner.  The leaves are stamped once, then two more times to the right without re-inking.  I tried out the longer birthday greeting this time. 

I felt like the card needed a little something extra where the borders crossed, so I added a Gold Baker's Twine bow.  You'll get a whole pack of twine with your kit!
