Two Cool Snow Day Snowman Gift Ideas!

Cool Idea #1: Snowmen + Nuggets = SNUGGETS!

Oh my goodness!  These little chocolate treats are cute as can be and perfect for an adorable, yet inexpensive, party favor!  They are so easy and fun to make, too!

Snowman Nugget Wraps—Cut a strip of Whisper White that's 3-1/4" x 1", then stamp the snowman face using the snowman parts in the Snow Day stamp set.  Make sure the face is centered on the strip and that it's close to the bottom, so you'll have room to add the hat later.  Add a bit of Sticky Strip on each end and wrap your Hershey's Nugget.  

This is what they look like…hatless! 

Snowman Hats—No, I didn't knit those hats!  I found some cheapo "dollar" gloves and snipped off the fingertips.  I cut off the full fingers of the glove, then rolled up the edges of the "hats" before adding them to the nugget.  Bonus—you end up with "texting" gloves! 

Hat Accents—Some hats I kept plain, but these two have embellishments!  The blue one has a Glimmer Brad attached to it and the aqua one has some fuzz that I cut off of another pair of gloves.  Cute!

Double-Nugget Snowmen—I couldn't resist adhering another nugget to the bottom for a double-layer snowman. I wrapped it the same way and added the Snow Day button image, then adhered the two nuggets together with Sticky Strip. This gave me enough room to add a matching scarf!  Oh yeah!  I LOVE it!  

Scarves—To make the scarf, I simply cut a "ring" from one of the fingertip pieces I had already trimmed off of the gloves.  I snipped the ring open, then tied the two ends together.  The stretchiness of the knit keeps the scarf in place. 

Chenille Hats & Scarves—I found more gloves that were made of super-soft and fuzzy chenille.  I have to say, that although they did turn out cute, the chenille is much more difficult to work with because it unravels and sheds so much.  You also can't roll the edge of the hat because it won't stay. 

I embellished these hats with a hand-made White Baker's Twine pompom and a Silver Ribbon bow-tie, both adhered to the fuzz with Multipurpose Glue. 

Now I want to make a whole Snow Family of these snuggets!  Too much fun!  You can try making a couple at my Wow Techniques Class coming up next Friday, December 13, at 6:30pm!

Cool Idea #2: Snow Day Pop 'n Cuts Gift Card Holder

My second project is an exact CASE of the awesomely fantastic gift card holder that Stampin' Up! CEO Shelli Gardner shared at Convention last summer and featured on her SoShelli.com blog.  I came home from the event and created it right away, but I've been waiting until this month to showcase it.  It's going to be another one of the projects at my Wow Techniques Class next Friday, December 13, at 6:30pm at my Too Cool Stamping Studio! 

This amazing gift card holder features the Snow Day stamp set.  The gift card holder base is cut with the Pop 'n Cuts XL Die. 

Gift Card Base—Start by running half a sheet of Cherry Cobbler card stock, 4-1/4" x 11", through the Big Shot with the Pop 'n Cuts Die Base.  Then, score in from the flat end at 1-1/2", 3-3/4" and 7-3/4".  Fold the score lines: mountain, valley, valley. 

Inside Pocket—The first panel is folded down in the front and tacked down with Sticky Strip in the center leaving the two corners with the slits free to become the closure for the gift card holder.  I just love how the tab interlocks to keep the front cover closed! 

The second panel folds up and is adhered on each side with Sticky Strip to create the pocket for the gift card, or in this case, my business card! 

Front Décor—The front is decorated with a 4-1/4" x 2" piece of polka dot paper from Season of Style.  Then the Snow Day Snowman is stamped with VersaMark onto Crumb Cake and embossed with White Embossing Powder.  That layer, and the Early Espresso layer beneath it, are both die-cut with the Deco Labels Framelits.

The Merry was cut in Old Olive card stock from the Thinlits Dies and adhered with Multipurpose Glue.  I added a double Linen Thread bow to the bottom with the same adhesive. 

Close-Up Details—I stamped the snowman face, arms and buttons in VersaMark then embossed them with Early Espresso Embossing Powder.  The hat was embossed, too, on Old Olive card stock, then hand-cut, and popped up with Dimensionals.  The scarf is a strip of Burlap Ribbon adhered with Multipurpose Glue.  The Cherry Cobbler heart was stamped on separate card stock, cut out and adhered with SNAIL. If I would have had Cherry Cobbler Embossing Powder, I would have used that for a cleaner look.

Inside Details—The inside is decorated with a 4-1/4" x 1-3/4" strip of Season of Style DSP, then another Crumb Cake Deco Label that's been cut down to a shorter size.  I added a Greetings of the Season sentiment in Old Olive.  

Envelope: The Snow Day Gift Card Holder will fit into a Medium Envelope if you insert it carefully.
