Quick & Cool—Kathe’s Frosted Pearl Background

I've got a gorgeous card to share with you today!  Kathe Madsen created this project as part of our Too Cool Demo Team's "quick & cool techniques" Shoebox Swap earlier this week.

Designed by Kathe Madsen, Too Cool Demo Team member.

I love the simple elegance of this card!  The Love & Sympathy stamp set is so peaceful and pretty.  It's even more stunning with the beautiful mother-of-pearl background that Kathe created with Frost White Shimmer Paint.

It difficult to photograph, but here you can see some of the details being picked up in the light. The Love & Sympathy flower is colored with Wild Wasabi and Elegant Eggplant markers.  The stamped image looks even more lovely layered against the Fancy Fan texture embossed background.

Quick & Cool Technique—Frosted Pearl Background

  • Pour a dollop of Frost White Shimmer Paint onto a plastic paint tray or palette.
  • Scrunch up some plastic wrap and dab it into the paint.  Dab off a bit if there is a lot of excess paint.
  • Lightly and randomly dab onto Whisper White card stock until you achieved desired coverage.
  • Let the paint dry, then stamp over the top of it.

Thanks so much, Kathe, for sharing your quick & beautiful card idea with us!
