Trying a different color scheme for my two cool Valentine cards today. The Real Red and Basic Black combination is…dare I say…a bit "sexier" than most cards I've created with the More Amore Designer Series Paper. Can cards be sexy?
Lots of layering and textures make this card so appealing! I started with a Real Red card base. My Very Vanilla layer has some pretty "newsprint" from the the First Edition Designer Series Paper at the top, measuring 5" x 2".
Along the bottom, I added a beautifully textured Real Red border, created with the Large Scallop Edgelits and Delicate Details Texture Impressions Folder.
The center panel is a strip of the new Basic Gray/Basic Black Two-Tone Ribbon, giving more texture and a lovely sheen.
The collage of hearts also brings lots of texture! It starts with a laser-cut scalloped Real Red heart cut apart from a sheet in the More Amore Designer Series Paper (shown above).
The Very Vanilla scalloped heart was die-cut with the Hearts A Flutter Framelits then embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots Folder.
The Hearts A Flutter black heart was stamped first in VersaMark Ink, heat embossed with Clear Embossing Powder, then die-cut with the same Framelits.
The second version uses the same elements with the newsprint and border cut to 4" wide instead.
The cute sentiment is from the Ciao, Baby! set in the Spring Catalog, punched with the matching Petite Curly Label Punch that you can earn for FREE during Sale-A-Bration! You simply HAVE to get this punch—too cute!
