Triple - two cool

We'll be creating today's project at the July Stamp Club event on Friday!  You're gonna love learning how to to this awesome Triple-Time Stamping technique that Dawn Olchefske shared in a fabulous Triple Time Stamping tutorial.

I used the Lacy & Lovely stamp set with Midnight Muse, Baja Breeze, and Gumball Green.  You're not going to believe how easy it is to get this cool, layered look!

Triple Time Stamping How-Tos

Triple - sheets

You're gonna start with six pieces, including three sizes of either Whisper White or Very Vanilla, and three sizes of whatever color you want for the frames and card base.  Here are the sizes you need…

Whisper White

  • 2" x 3-1/4"
  • 3" x 4-1/4"
  • 4" x 5-1/4"

Card Base & Frames

  • 2-1/4" x 3-1/2"
  • 3-1/4" x 4-1/2"
  • 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" folded in half for card base

Triple - whites

Next, use a bit of Dotto or just a couple tiny dabs of SNAIL to temporarily tack down the three layers of Whisper White on top of each other.

Triple - stamped

Do your random stamping on top of all three sheets while they are stuck together.  Don't worry about any white gaps you may see now where the images didn't stamp up to the edge.  You won't see these at all later on.

Triple - stamped pieces

Gently pull the sheets apart and layer them onto the "frame" pieces.  TIP: Make sure you keep the pieces in the correct direction as you adhere them, so the images on each level will have continuity (and so the sentiment doesn't end up upside-down…not that I would know this!).

You know, I'm loving the look of the stamped border on each of the pieces above. I'll have to try using them separately.

Triple - thank you

Once your stamped pieces are added to your frame layers, final assembly of the card is easy!  I added some Gumball Green Stitched Satin Ribbon around my second layer before adhering.

Triple - thank you 2

And, I popped up each layer with Dimensionals.

Triple - hello

I added a bow on the top layer for this one.  I tied the bow first, then adhered the tails behind the card stock.

Did you notice the soft Baja Breeze color over the background?  I used the new Stampin' Spritz bottles to create a shimmery, colored spray.

I tried to get a better close-up shot of the sparkly shimmer of the spritz, but the photos don't do it justice!  (click to enlarge) So pretty!

Spritzer 126185LShimmer Spritzed Background How-Tos

Recipe: I filled the bottle up half way with rubbing alcohol, then added a small dollop of Champagne Shimmer Mist Paint, and about 5 drops of Baja Breeze Refill Ink.  After shaking that up really well, I tested it on a piece of scrap paper, then spritzed my stamped pieces about 4 times.

Spritzer TIPS: Try to only use a fresh mixture of your spritz if you add in Shimmer Paint.  The paint will settle and cause some clumping for future spraying.  It can also clog your spray nozzle, giving you a stream instead of a mist, or stopping the spray altogether.  If you do have clogging issues, simply clean out the bottle with warm water, and pump warm water through the nozzle until it sprays correctly again.

  1. What a fabulous card! I came to your blog after seeing a different card on splitcoast. I just love this and now I think I need this set (good thing I haven’t clicked submit on my order yet). Thanks for sharing your great talents. I can’t wait to try out this technique!
