Sometimes you need a little "pun" in your life—vintage style! The Rue Des Fleurs set provides beautiful, vintage images, with colorful phrases that are perfect for thanking a parent or supportive friend.
I used both of the pun-inspired images for today's Two Cool cards! The first shows a corset blooming with flowers and the word "thanks." I'll add "…for the support" to the inside of the card. The umbrella, with it's dangling Dali-esque timepieces, combines with "thanks for watching over me."
Both combinations are unique ways of expressing appreciation to someone who has helped you during a crisis or taken care of you when you needed some extra encouragment.
My images are stamped onto Very Vanilla, colored with Pool Party, Daffodil Delight markers, then cut out with the Labels Framelits die.
I added a Pool Party Label layer under the corset, texture embossed with the Square Lattice Impressions Folder. I love the Pearl Jewels accents that look like buttons!
The umbrella has a layer created with the same size Label that was cut in half and positioned to peek out from under the top and bottom edges. I added a few Pearls here, too.
This is the first time I have gotten a chance to use the new Attic Boutique Designer Series Paper and I'm especially loving the soft script design! The darker Soft Suede paper design matches the border stamp in the Rue Des Fleurs set.
Use the 1" Square Punch to create the fishtail banner end.
I added a Pool Party Seam Binding scrunched ribbon to card #1. Learn how to scrunch your ribbon on this post. Card #2 uses the Pool Party Ruffled ribbon, which also looks fabulous with this soft vintage style.
