Darla’s Folk Flowers Card & Convention Day 3

Day 3 at Convention!  We'll start off with a pretty card created by my Convention roommate, Darla Eigenschink.

Darla - folk flowers stencils
Folk Flowers 118139

I love the simplicity of cards created with stencils.  The Folk Flowers Stencil was used here, and I've just now discovered that, although it is not in the catalog, it is still available.  I'm so happy about that, because the designs are big and bold and can be used on all sorts of projects, from cards and scrapbooks, to boxes and bookcases.

Card Details:  Darla used Marina Mist, Pear Pizzazz and Cherry Cobbler for her color palette.  The border is punched with the Scallop Trim Border punch.  The stencil is sponged with Marina Mist and Pear ink.  The sentiment is from Elements of Style from the Summer Mini.  She added a Clear Rhinestone Brad for a little bling…nice!

You can see another card using this stencil, as well as tips on how to stencil at this post.

Thanks, Darla, for letting me share your cool card!

Convention Day 3

We start the day with another Rah-Rah session on the Main Stage.  It's really not just a big pep talk, although there is some of that.  Stampin' Up! puts on quite a presentation for us, including demonstrations of ways to use new products, special announcements, a Family Feud style game show for prizes, random door prizes, and Shelli showing sample projects that she created (always a treat!).

Later, we are off to more classes, "Discover Your Stampin' Story" and "Loyal Customers," and we finish up with our Make & Take session.

Check back tomorrow for more Convention updates!
